lol.
Also: Took the Nolan Chart survey, and I'm right on the border between Conservative and Libertarian. Literally, the star is on both sides.

Do you know the kind of things live up there? Griffins, firebirds, colddrakes --- things without names 'cause no one who's seen 'em has lived long enough to give them names besides 'AAAARG!'"

Haha, I'm reading this translation of Sartre, and the stupid translator translated the phrase "avant-garde" as "advance guard."

Words of wisdom: don't read second-hand philosophy :P I wouldn't even recommend reading published journal articles on something without reading the original first.

You do what you've got to do. I just think that's the worst possible approach to philosophy. It's quite literally like reading cliff-notes for a Literature class (which is all most college students do anyways :P).

If you want some light philosophy reading on the side, a good easy thinker to read is Sartre. I just picked up one of his published lectures the other day, and I had forgotten of easy he is to read (even though I disagree with him on 95% :P). I'd specifically read "Existentialism and Human Emotions," because that gives a very nice summary of his understand of Existentialism and what he's doing with it. And you can tie in the philosophical reading with some of his fiction, if you're so inclined.
