Is this book $%^&ing around with me?
"Fixed action patterns (FAP)" - I'm really expected to discuss faps in my biology exam.
Really
?

I had an intellectual answer ready, but then I was like
I lol'd
Anyway, so you study biology?

Patty
Yeah, it's my last
year
month of school too, ever. D:
I don't know if I'd do something biochemical, biological or historical for uni. I like history more, but science is much more employable. :/

I agree, history isn't very employable, and Science gets you a wide variety of jobs later on, aswell as (at least in Sweden) a nice, big paycheck
I'd say Biochemistry

Hehe, I know, but then I know I'd enjoy history so much more.... and anything with Chemistry at degree level will probably end up in me having a mental breakdown. I'll just wait until I get my results in August, I think. :P

/agree on the chemistry hatred.

I don't hate chemistry, I find it very interesting. It's just that after almost failing last year and pretty much half-killing myself to get my grades up this year and up from last year, I don't know if I could keep up with the work.

Patty, come on vent. I'm lonely :'(
I'm sort of doing notes about fapping and procrastinating in equal measure. :( I'd forget to fap if I joined vent.

Oh, okay. I don't know if the chemistry curriculum is anything similar to ours over in Jersey, but being required to pretty much keep an encyclopedic knowledge of a billion different compunds, mixtures and reactions, without ever getting any juicy theory to wrap my lateral-thinking brain around, pretty much killed it for me.

Well, we use the UK curriculum over here.
Ours is less of an encylopedia and more of 'learn these trends, know how to apply them, memorise these specific reaction mechanisms, learn how to apply these mathematical equations'. Maths isn't my strongest point, lol. But luckily we do about enthalpy, equilibria, entropy and things like that to give some variety to the course. ;)

I remember the word enthalpy but I don't remember what it was. Yours does sound a fair bit like ours though.

Oh. :o Enthalpy is like, the heat content stored in a system. So, you can use enthalpy changes to work out energy changes. I
think
hope
that's what the point of it for the last two years of studying has been...

Heh, fair enough.
Changing the subject, I was just checking out this nightclub in Melbourne that I was considering going to when I'm down there in June. So I just clicked on the Guestlist tab, and was greeted with this:Though we encourage you to always let us know you’re coming, you need to be aware a guestlist doesn’t guarantee entry. Guests must still meet our dress and door policies.
Fridays – Neat casual dress and a good attitude.
Saturdays – Nothing too muzza or bogan! It’s hard to describe the dress code/style for the unique phenomenon that is Wah wah Saturdays, but try this on for size:
GUYS:
No Mohawks
No Rat Tails
No Ed Hardy
No Skate brands
No surf brands
No Elwood
No Fluro
No Suits
No skate shoes
No pointy toe formal shoes
GIRLS:
Just look hot!
Guestlist price is $15.
Clear as mud? So, we can go casual as long as we don't wear skate gear or surf gear (which is what
every
Aussie bloke wears), or any of the "bogan brands", but we're also not allowed to dress
too
nicely. Are flip-flops fair game for footwear? Or studded football boots? Girls can wear whatever they want though. Dumb dress code is dumb.

Skater shoes are too comfy to reject. </3

Yeah that killed it for me. But then so did no suits. Suit+nightclub=awesome.

It sort of sounds like school's sixth form dresscode, lawl.
Boys: no branded t-shirts, jeans, non-shoes shoes (like trainers, skater shoes etc), hoodies, shorts, like everything else ever that guys wear. (Granted, we don't follow it, but still.)
Girls have like, no limitations. Even when they're walking around practically half naked. DOUBLE STANDARD.
