Hello, what comes out in 33 days?
That was directed at Askiawa signature.
SW:ToR
I've already un-subbed from WoW and I'll likely be leaving the Wowhead community at that point
*sad-face*
It does seem a bit odd to moderate a forum based around a game that I no longer play.

Join the club. Seems a lot of the Off-Topic peoples don't play WoW.

Well, I'm sure I'll drop by occasionally but I'll probably go back to white text ^_^
I've un-subbed from WoW a few times in the past, usually if I'm a bit bored at around the same time as another MMO releases (LOTRO, Aion, Rift) but I'm always quite sure when I do that it's just a break and the new MMO will be fun for a couple of months until a new WoW patch.
This feels different though, not least because this time I've stopped playing before the new thing comes along. I'm a couple of weeks away from completing the legendary and I don't care enough to finish it off. The culmination raid of the expansion is about to release and I'm not excited for it. It's like a relationship that's winding down, I've fallen out of love. I could say "it's not you, it's me" but I honestly can't put my finger on what it really is. A bit of both I guess.
I'm just glad/lucky that almost my entire guild are SW fans and in a similar place as me with WoW.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Yeah- I already have a guild for when Star Wars opens up too, and most of us pre-ordered to get in early. I didn't un-sub wow, though- I ended up paying the year for the free copy of diablo and the horse. I'm thinking that Darkmoon Faire will give me some new fun solo content to play with. I'll probably un-sub EQ2 while I am playing Star Wars, but I think it will be a temporary thing. I'm more interested in the character stories than in then end game, and once I do all my playthroughs of those, i'll probably not worry about raiding or gearing up or anything like that.

this may be a dumb question but....... will TOR be subscription based? or Free-to-play?
A friend of mine in wow said he can buy me a copy of TOR, but I'd have to come up with a way to pay for the subscription by myself =/
I really wanna play it (Hello? MASSIVE BIOWARE FAN HERE) but due to that whole anti-videogame law here, I cant pay the subscription (gamecards aren't sold here, only in black markets that resell them at exorbitant prices that I just can't afford)
I'm playing wow as it is mostly due to the generosity of my guildies since one of them sponsors my subscription every month.

There is a $15/month subscription fee.

dammit :S
I guess I could pay off that subscription by the same way i paid for my wow subscription for the first 2 years, (READ: I farmed gold endlessly and used that gold to buy 60day gamecards at 9k gold each) but for that i'd need a few free months to get to the level cap and start farming up :S
/sighs
what a shame, it really does looks like a fun MMO, but afraid I'll have to pass =/

Sorry :( If it makes you feel better, the best part of Bioware games is the dialogue, and you KNOW that youtube will have clips of just about everything funny that happens in the entire game, just like Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

Kids are tricky though.
Is that... is that a generalization? Surely you don't actually think that ALL kids are tricky. Can you please elaborate on this, because I for one, am very confused.
It was the set up for an eye joke. If you really want to end the friendly banter we've been enjoying thus far despite differing opinions, with your need to fight everyone, that's fine. I'm sure it's hard to constantly lose on debate points, and have to come up with nasty things to say and ways to attack the most miniscule parts of the debater's post rather than address the substance in order to hold your ground. I can understand that it would erode ones sense of civility and ability to accept valid points of correction and debate. I'll count myself as put on notice that the rules have changed, and proceed accordingly.
And for the record, you might want to consider not being so hateful and angry in your life. Not everyone is out to get you, not everything is a personal attack, and it'll be easier in your career as a spiteful bigot if you prepare yourself for the fact when you recreationally make statements about other nationalities, ethnicities and sexualities, that people on the other side will usually have a lot more evidence than you to fight the battle, and will call you on it no matter how much sarcasm you use to try and mask it.
EDIT: And before it's brought up, I realize that THAT paragraph was a personal attack- I'm talking about all of the other paragraphs people write that send you into a frenzied rage.
Who's scruffy lookin'?

well, finnaly got a beta key, bioware is suposed to contact my email 7-10 days before the next test phase begins.
one thing I didn't quite liked was that the test phase is meant to last just 4 days? that sucks, it should last till the game actually goes live at least.

@Rankorr- Part of the way they sold the pre-orders, was that they offered early access to the game as an incentive. They'd probably annoy a lot of their pre-orders, all of whom got the beta, if they ran the beta until the game launches because then they might feel cheated out of their "extra" play time.

Rankkor
true, but isn't 4 days a bit too little? they could make it 15 days, that would give the pre-orders more time than most, while allowing the poor joes like me to at least enjoy the game for 2 weeks.
4 days is like someone letting you eat a cake, but snatching it from you after the second bite.
Edit: also, O_O LINEAGE 2 IS GOING FREE-TO-PLAY WHEN THE NEXT EXPANSION IS RELEASED.......
ohh god, no, I had a serious vice on that game (not like wow, which I played cassually, on Lineage II I was a hardcore player, and was very hard to actually quit that game......)
must.......................... resist.............temptation..................to go back.............AWAY SATAN! /does horcrux symbol............

On the bright side, after the game launches they'll probably have like a 10 or 14 day trial people can sign up for, so you could try that at least.
@Interest- yeah, I know. But all of my BF's friends who have gotten into previous betas say it's amazing.

I'm in McDonalds right now, and there is some dude being fired two tables over. You'd think they'd do that somewhere in a back office or something. Awkward...

Bioware's approach to beta testing has been quite interesting actually. I gather they've had an going VERY closed beta but the majority of the beta testing has been very focussed into weekends. They get lots of people to play for a relatively short amount of time ad then spend a couple of weeks analysing the data they collected before the next beta event.
The coming open beta looks to be taking the same approach but with stress testing in mind. I imagine they gain an awful lot of information in the first few hours of beta tests (even more so with stress tests like this) and then relatively far less after that.
That said, I really can't wait to play so I would love a long beta too ^_^
edit: I'm planning on playing a Sith Inquisitor - Assassin (advanced tree).(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

ohh yhea, forgot about that, well, 14-day trial is better than nothing, so I guess I can enjoy even a little bit of the game.
I really wish I could play it....... humm, gonna try to convince my friend to buy me the game and 2 months of gametime, which I'll repay back to him in in-game Credits. :P I'm an economist IRL, so making money out of a virtual market is child's play for me =D all I need is a couple of months to get to the level cap, and I can start working on making some ca$h

The trials
tend
to come quite a bit later. The more successful the game the later the trial.

but bioware has to compete against a giant Behemoth on the MMO-Market (WOW) so the best way to lure players curious to try it out, is by offering a free trial imidietly upon launch.
