Yes.
And what I'd do first is factor out a five, which leaves you with 5(x3 + 3x2 -9x -27).

That would be a cubic equation, so you can't apply the quadratic equation, I don't think.

That would be a cubic equation, so you can't apply the quadratic equation, I don't think.

y = 5x3 + 15x2 - 45x - 135
y = 5x2(x + 3) - 45(x + 3)
y = 5x2 + 45 + x + 3
y = 5x2 + x + 48
Then, if you use the quadratic formula (which I cannot remember for the life of me), you should be able to solve the problem.

Bleck, I need to show my work, so I don't think this'll do. I appreciate the help, though. The teacher said in her sub notes to "Try your best!" and I'm only unable to do like, 3-4 problems, which isn't much, so it should suffice.

I get the factoring of (x + 3), but I'm trying to get the next step.
I get to y = (5x2 - 45)(x + 3).
Which you can than determine the roots from there... I think.
Yes, I get abs(x) = 3. The work should be simple to get that.
