well, its mostly because I already have enough problems, political turmoil, opressive laws, CRUMBLING economy that will likely not surivive the next half century, and of course, bloodshed on the streets at the slightest sight of resistance.
Due to this, I'm kinda busy to pay attention to what happens on other nations. Though I DO know other countries have it worst than mine, I just haven't looked it up. Its depresing enough to know the bad shape my nation is, seeing the even worst shapes of other nations won't make me feel better.
Plus, due to our own stack of problems, there isn't anything we can do for them anyways, even though if I could do something about it, I would. But I cant.
After doing a more thorough reading about Kony, and about that film, and about the thread here in the OT section, all I have to say is:
Wow Boro has some SERIOUS issues. To be saying that people in poverty are lazy or enjoy it....... DAMN!
So, we haven't overthrown chavez because we enjoy his marathonic 5-hour speeches ever single week? or the taxing laws that squeeze every penny? or the supression of freedom of speech? supression of freedom of what movies to see, what games to watch, what shows to be broadcasted?
Sheesh....... :S

My W button seems broken. Not physically, but when I press it, it sometimes doesn't react. And other times it presses itself. I removed a trojan now, so I'm crossing my fingers that it'll be better now.

hey I never said they were bad games (regardless of how so many of the gaming deride them as games-for-dumb category) Just that shooters are generally the main reason W keys on keyboards tend to break first.
BTW; I also love shooters xD they are my third most favorite category of videogames.
I play RPGs for the story, I could care less about the actual gameplay, or combat, or challenge, I just want a good story, with top-notch acting, music, writing, and character development. This is why I tend to cut a lot of slack on RPG Hybrids that mix genres. if the story is good, the music is good, and the acting is good, just about everything else can be forgiven (Unless the game has some SERIOUS ISSUES)
I play Real-time Strategy games or Turn Based Strategy games for the challenge. I don't care about silly music, nor plot, nor characters, nada. I want the computer to put my brain to its fullest of capacity for challenge, and THIS brand of games is what I enjoy playing on multiplayer the most. I want smart enemies, complex gameplay, in-depth mechanics. This is why I consider games like Total War and Starcraft to be the most triumphant examples of this genre (Though Civilization is awesome too, too bad I never played it T_T)
And last but not least, I play shooters (be them third person or first person) just as a form of stress release. I don't care if they have plots crappier than B-movies from the 60's. or characters that are cartoonish stereotypes, or even levels designed by someone who doesn't quite grasps the most basic principles of architecture. All I care is painting walls with blood >=) pure action, PEW PEW, BANG BANG, KABOOOM! Hence why I am not so critic of the CoD franchise. Where it matters, it delivers (pure unmitigated action). Of course, shooters that actually do have a nice plot, and good characters are even better, but they are added bonuses not requirements.

It's not that the button has fallen off or something, it feels exactly the same. So it's probably something under it =/

The thread isn't even about Kony anymore. Someone said something about charities being unnecessary, and then said a lot more things that...well...are the cause of our discussion. It's not about the original topic for like 3 pages now.

I noticed. Still thing he's DEAD-WRONG on the "people who ask for charity are lazy" part. I'm contemplating writing a reply, but I'm wondering if there's even a point.

That's why I rarely get into debate threads. People are (generally) so ingrained in their thought of "I am right, you are wrong", that they will dismiss any evidence to the contrary. It's not like they're going to be magically converted to the opposite of what they've believed their whole life.

Do it. If not else, the response will be entertaining.

this is the main reason why I don't participate in debates. I may state my stance on a specific issue, but then trying to debunk the stance of others isn't something I like doing.
For example, I only posted once on the Gay marriage thread. I stated my opinions, and promptly left the thread.

I don't agree. Well, I do, to a point, (people aren't going to have a revelation mid-forum debate), but a lot of information and ways of looking at things are put back and forth, and I do think it can get people to think about the other side of an issue, and over-time if not change their opinion, at least get them to think about it slightly differently or understand the other side more.

Got results back from the Java competition. My team got 0 right, but three of them were really close. O well I still got a free T-shirt.
Programming's hard.

Random thoughts: I just remembered what a smoking fox my year 8 English teacher was. She had really piercing blue eyes.
Elhon: You recovered from your cold? Hope so!
Also, I've gotten into Pramface. It's not the type of humour I'd normally enjoy, but my drinking buddy got me into it and I'm hooked - same thing with Inbetweeners.
Sadly, he broke a seven week fitness regime of not drinking alcohol exactly five days after I'd given up alcohol for Lent, so I couldn't watch it sozzled. :(
