MyTie we all feel for your perpetual victimization as a white, protestant, male. We're sorry that you are so utterly non-oppressed that your religion, gender, race, and sexuality's acceptance has gotten to the point that it is no longer a touchy subject. It must be very hard on you.
No. That is mockery.
Yes I know.
I mean, that's cool if you want to do that. That's fine. It's not a big deal to me, personally. The part that interests me is that it is acceptable for some groups, but not others. It's not a me vs them thing, so maybe I shouldn't have used myself as an example.

Well, Monks are slightly over powered; just soloed Plague, Spider and Military, got Patchwerk and Grob down, almost had Gluth but hit the enrage timer.

The problem is you do it consistently. If my Arabic friend asks what I think of his God I'll tell him the same thing.
Even so there is a blatant propaganda-ish tone to your comparison.
Nobody says you believe in a sky zombie. Your much more likely to find:
"I fail to see how a person, or deity, can simultaneously love and be perfectly moral and yet punish people eternally for not worshiping him. That goes against every definition of morality I use."

On here? I highly disagree. You're much more likely to run into the sky zombie.
Not from you, ofc, but definitely from others.

Even so there is a blatant propaganda-ish tone to your comparison.Yeah. I'm equally abrasive and questioning to everything, from the way that some people try to practice Christianity, to the violence that permeates Islam, to the craziness and deadly effects of Scientology, to the people who are on welfare because they are lazy, to the people that believe that black people cannot be racist, to the militant homosexuals. I treat everyone I don't agree with to the same heaping spoonful of cynical questioning. That's called consistency. I'm glad you see that. My point is that people aren't usually consistent in the way they treat groups of people. Some groups are off limits and must be treated with extreme care and delicacy, and other groups are moved around with wrecking balls. I dislike the double standard, not the wrecking ball. Either one way or the other, all the time, for everyone.
Nobody says you believe in a sky zombie. Your much more likely to find:And yet, that does happen. Not all thetime, but it does happen. I have yet to see Islam mocked, or black people, or women. If I were black, would you have felt comfortable bringing up my "victimization"? I kind of doubt it. In fact, if anyone did that to a person because they were black, and pointed it directly at them, I think they may get banned from wowhead. And yet, no one bats an eye when done to a white guy. This is social double standards.
"I fail to see how a person, or deity, can simultaneously love and be perfectly moral and yet punish people eternally for not worshiping him. That goes against every definition of morality I use."After trying to come up with a.. well... concise reasoning, I'm left without knowing how to come up with a reason without a wall of text. So, let me just throw out some key concepts: objective morality, nature of tough love, free will to sin, God's incompatibility of sin, consequences of free will, necessity to have free will in order to have love.
I'm respect your intelligence enough for you to fit those all together without me holding your hand.

Pushy obnoxious intrusive bossy people make me uncomfortable.
You don't strike me as the type that allows himself to be made uncomfortable, or be pushed around.
In real life, I'm very quiet and not confrontational. I don't let people push me around, but I certainly don't enjoy it when they try.
The story behind it is I was going to join a group of people at my work for spades. This loud mouthed guy I was going to play with started telling me that I couldn't be called by my nickname anymore, for some reason. Then he started making fun of where I was from, and my background. I couldn't say anything because he wouldn't stop talking. I left before the game started and just left that note on wowhead. I left in a way that was socially appropriate, and didn't seem like I was objecting. No need to create enemies. I haven't made any enemies (outside wowhead) since I left the military. When I was in the military I was quite a different person. I was very forceful and dominate, which I guess went with my rank/job. I would have put him in his place back then. These days I realize that that doesn't really solve anything.

Military, eh? You could always have him mug you in the parking lot where you use your military training to attempt to disarm him but instead tragically and fatally harm him winding you up in prison. Then you would spend time waiting to see your family again until the day you're about to be released. So they send you on a plane with the intent of releasing you but instead it is taken over by a group of convicts headed by a very intelligent man.
You spend most of the plane-jacking playing it cool trying to find an opening to take back control of the plane but instead you guys make an emergency landing in the desert making it seem as though your chances of seeing your family again are very slim. During the time, the pedo of the group wanders off and meets a child and has tea with her. Surprisingly, he shows a lot of restraint and comes back to the plane. During this time, the plane takes off and you're up in the air again.
Eventually you and everyone on the plane that is still alive make for a crash landing in Las Vegas where the Feds finally catch up as you take back control of the plane. You are reunited with your family as Lee Ann Rimes plays in the background.
Yeah, you could totally do that instead.

@MyTie- If it makes you feel better, I don't agree with the name calling for religion either. i had it out with Skithus last night about the names he was calling religious people in the gay marriage thread, and I don't think he's coming back to wowhead because I told him that if he couldn't curb the way he phrased things I'd prefer he didn't come argue in a place where I have friends and people I have a mutual respect for.
But I don't think that saying that a particular view of another group of people that is derogatory is wrong because of the harm it causes is the same as mocking your religion by talking about sky zombies. I have only ever argued with religious people on topics where I think that their beliefs are harming others. It may not be a distinction that you recognize, but for me my morality centers around the harm done to others and so for me that's a big difference.
@Gamer- on the subject of governmentalized healthcare, I saw an article not too long ago (forgot to save the link) that said that some hospital was being sued in a class action case because they were charging patients without insurance almost double the insured rate in some cases. That's pretty disgusting- I didn't realize hospitals did that. I think this is a pretty strong case for government intervention in healthcare pricing.
@Everyone else- installing D3 now. BF will be so jealous I beat him to it because I am an early riser.
