I think he may have misread some of that as well. My first response quote was intended to be somewhat sarcastic since I knew he was probably $%^&ing around.

On another note though, people on my realm like doing For The Horde/For The Alliance. Very fun for a growing Fire Mage like myself. Just singlehandedly stopped a Baine attempt by blowing up their whole raid (was probably some 25-30 people total).

True. I actually had no clue what it meant when I first saw it. I'm disappointed in myself for not playing Chrono Trigger despite playing a lot of obscure RPGs.

Chrono Trigger....obscure? Da hell? That's easily one of the most famous SNES RPG's out there, what with the remake on the PS1 and then the DS.

Oh I know about the fame it has, but anything without the words "Final" and "Fantasy" in it are considered "obscure" to me =P
(Either way, it's a shame. Then again I have never touched any systems from Sony)

You be noob then =P; after FF and Mana, Chrono was the third big Square title at the time.

The funny thing is I learned about the Mana series because of
Final Fantasy
Adventures.

See it's comments like that that show just how 'young' you are lol; Secret of Mana was one of my dream games back in grade 7; rented that game for almost three months straight before lol. Loved it.

Well tbh I was a little late to join the whole gaming thing. I used to play a lot of chess.

da'hell? I was under the impression that other than FF, the main star of Square was Dragon Quest (at least in japan, internationally, FF has been the more famous)
Plus, Chrono was a single game, if I'm not mistaken Mana is a franchise, so its less known.
I will say that Chrono Trigger is THE BEST game ever made by squaresoft. Only rivaled (somewhat) by FF6

When it comes to America Rank, FF Mana and Chrono were the three top known RPG's on the SNES, with the truly obscure but incredibly excellent Secret of Evermore getting the shaft lol; that game was just as awesome as Mana.
Chrono is technically three games: Trigger, Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross.

Still da noob lol.

They never made any sequel to chrono. Just like there never was any sequel to the Matrix, and there is no such thing as Superman 3 or 4.

I love Chrono Cross, always have, always will. It's an amazing game, and the story line is just as great as Trigger heh....okay yes, the massive twist is a huge gut punch, and the 'true' ending is weakish, but it has a reborn Glenn, a killer clown girl and some of the most amusing cast of characters that a lot of modern games need to figure out a way to duplicate.
Solt and Peppor and their shaking still makes me laugh, especially when they pulled out Ketchop.

They weren't worthy of being preserved on my memory.
Much the same way as Dragon Ball GT.

Ohhh sure sure, basic plot of Cross: Lets kill everyone from the previous game for no god-damned reason, HUR HUR LOOK, GAME IZ DARK NOW!
Then lets make none of your actions really matter at all, and have you kill off another world just for kicks and giggles, then lets pull Shchala out of nowhere, and have her rescue mean nothing, lets pepper it with so many characters, hardly anyone gets any real focus, and season it with lackluster villains, and incomprehensible dialog.
what a shiny gem o videogaming.
/sarcasm off.
I'm better off pretending that abomination never existed and my happy ending from Chrono Trigger is what really happened.
heh....okay yes, the massive twist is a huge gut punch
No, a gut punch would be watching bambi's mommy die, the plot of Chrono Cross is to me more of a spit on the face, followed by a kick in the balls.
and the 'true' ending is weakish
If by weakish you mean "makes as much sense as the ending of 2001's space odyssey" then yes, it was weakish.
some of the most amusing cast of characters that a lot of modern games need to figure out a way to duplicate.
And that's exactly what I don't like about it, we need quality not quantity. Just because there's over 40 recruitable characters doesn't mean the game is better. I'd rather have 5 well developed companions, than 50 bland flat companions. By the middle of the game I had so many party members I stopped remembering who was who, and frankly stopped caring as well.
The first game was as close to perfection as the SNES could had gotten. Cross was a game I'd rather delete from my mind. The one thing I somewhat liked about it was Ozzie's cameo. But even its battle system sucks.
"Hey, here's a good idea, lets replace the cool limit-break system and cross-combo-limit system from the previous game and add a stupid "use once per battle" skill system, that's sure gonna be fun, Ah-hyuck"
/shudders.
What a horrible horrible sequel, no wonders plans for another installment fell apart after it, since it got such a cold reception from the fans (hint hint: When you do a sequel, try to avoid killing THE ENTIRE MAIN CAST of the previous game, specially for no reason other than to have them dead, people tend to not like that)
