Tattoos in general I think are pretty sexy on a guy
A lot of people have this opinion, or about piercings. I'm of the opinion that metal inserted in someone's skin, or ink permanently injected in the skin, never improves the appearance of a woman. I feel actually sad, when I see a beautiful woman, with striking features, who feels that it is improved by some gaudy metal bar in their nose. I realize that is just my opinion, and that there is nothing inherently good or bad about piercings. On a side note, if I find something negative, in opinion, it usually becomes very popular.

My boyfriend has virgin skin. I like it that way, although it kinda makes him not want me to get more. I have 3 and plan on getting more.
But yes, as a rule of thumb, tattoos on men are sexy. But the man has to be sexy too :3

I'm on your side on this one, I've never liked tattoos or piercings. I suppose Earrings are ok for women, but that's as far as it goes in my taste. Piercing your tongue, lips, nipples, or other unmentionable areas is just disgusting.
I wont judge those that do it, but I would NEVER do it, nor allow my kids to do it either. Not while they're my responsibility, what they choose to do as adults is their business.
I don't mind the tattoo name thing-
I think it's cute if you're already in a committed relationship where you are pretty confident it's a lifelong partnership
. But I think people do it quite often when that is not the case, and then have to make up stories about their poor dead turtle named Stacy who they mourn to this day.
Tattoos in general I think are pretty sexy on a guy, as long as they're not overdone, or tacky. I think that to incorporate your significant other's name into a nice tattoo is great. I think that incorporating it into a crappy tattoo not only leave you with a crappy tattoo, but someone who might get offended if you tried to get rid of it.
But that's overkill.
I'm UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY devoted to my wife. She's my queen and goddess, and has my eternal love, loyalty, and devotion. But I would never tattoo her name anyhwere on my body to express my commitment to her in front of the rest of the world.
I do that proudly by wearing this gold ring that has her name on it, its on my finger right next to my pinky on my left hand. She wears a matching ring on her hand as well, and we both have a matching set of necklaces with our initials put together.
That's more than enough commitment.
Of course, mileages may vary.

Depends too much on the guy, and even more so on the nature of the tattoo. You obviously haven't seen some of the tattoos worn by the gangsters in Sabaneta. Now those are the stuff nightmares are made of.

Rank- I'm not saying that they do it to prove that they're committed. I'm saying that since it is permanent, you may be stuck with something to remind you of someone you'd rather forget if you don't stay together.
Many people who are really into tattoos (I am not, but know people that are) get tattoos to commemorate things that are important in their life. They might get one when a child is born, when they join the military (though I believe you have to wait a certain amount of time to do so), when someone close to them dies, etc. For them, they like the idea of marking their body with things that are significant in their lives, and if they are really and truly in love it may mean a lot for them to add a tattoo with that person's name.
Of course, there will be people don't think things through, and who want tattoos of the waitress they had that night, that immortalize their 24-hour Spongebob marathon, because it would look really creepy to have spiderwebs on their face for Halloween, etc. And many of these will regret it. But there are some people for whom it fits in with their entire philosophy behind why they get tattoos in the first place to get their spouse's name, and that's why they do it.

When ever I see a tattoo on someone, I imagine what thy would look like with it in 40+ years.
I know the veterans have them, and that's awesome because they usually have to do with their platoon or what service they're in or something similar. But a 60 year old man with a wolf tattooed on his calf will look strange to me. And I have a friend who got that tat when we were seniors in high school.
Lots of my friends got tattoos once they hit 18. A girl I know got the star from Super Mario on her wrist, and that's cute. But another has tats all over her body. And while they look good now, who knows what they will look like later in life.

I guess I'm just not a fan of tattoos. And to think that back when I was a teen I almost got one myself. (then again, those weren't my best years)
Anyhows, I found a hilarious thread on MMO-Champion called "photoshop Thrall". And as the name implies, its all about photoshoping Thrall into whatever you can imagine.
A lot of them were pretty bad but there were plenty that were awesome.
Here are some of my favorites:

She said she felt that that was often used by people to put pressure on the other person in the relationship, or to manipulate a commitment.
It's just like pregnancy, or marriage.
who knows what they will look like later in life.
The problem with this argument is a) the guy with the snake coiled around his neck will hardly live to see 80, and b) you'll look weird and ugly when you're old and wrinkled no matter what, so...

No. It isn't.
Are you saying neither of those things can be used to manipulate a commitment?
