I said something bad about someone, a couple of weeks back. I don't remember what I said, exactly, or why. I didn't know the person I said it about, and I had never met them. I said it without them present, and in confidence. They found out what I said.
I've spent the entire day apologizing and repairing what was said. One flippant word takes a thousand to fix. I've never been so humiliated. But, rightfully so. I deserved what I just endured. Wisdom is not always an easily learned lesson.
On a side note, it's really awkward to meet someone while you are apologizing to them.

People say that Literature classes aren't useful but honestly I think having taking a college course in Shakespeare I think that you could use almost literally any Shakespeare play for almost literally every SAT essay question.

Here is how literature works:
Written: "Drapes were blue"
What teacher/professor says: "Blue drapes symbolize deep depression author was undergoing during writing of this piece"
What author really meant: "Drapes were blue (that is it)"
I've seen this and I don't agree. Or at the very least, it's a bastardization and simplification of what happens in a literature class. Nobody would be particularly concerned about blue drapes unless every other drape in the book except for that scene was red, or if their had been a running theme of very specifically mentioned blueness in scenes and then an examination of what the other could be trying to show by connecting these.

There are thousands of people out there who read/watch/study art for living and then pull hidden meaning out of it. That is real problem. Art as a thing should not be dissected for the public, art should be chewed by yourself. I can totally enjoy book, where in some scene drapes are blue, instead of usual red. This ain't map for secret treasures or knowledge of the Universe. And people waste time on that, and that is the problem.
I find it incredibly sad that you'd assume the mundane especially in classical works of literature rather than assuming that authors famed as some of the most intelligent and brilliant thinkers and writers of all times leave consistent thematic patterns (or sometimes a breaking of then or a lack thereof) which you can assume are intentional and thus so deeply explore a text, mind, and time period.
Furthermore, I'd argue that through the reading of authors commentaries on their own writings that you're simply incorrect, look at the introduction to Paradise Lost, Milton obviously assumes a high level intelligence in the people reading his works and that they will find these gems in his writing. He even goes as far as to say that there are a small yet intelligent few who will truly be able to understand and appreciate his works, as they are written in a style of 'blank verse' (non-rhyming iambic pentameter) which was vastly unpopular at the time, and specifically writes that he wished to create a work so great that we would not willfully forget it. He clearly wished for people to read deeply into it not just in his time, but for all time to come.
I'll give you an example: Read Hamlet. Then learn that the word 'doubt' in Shakespeare's time is equally likely to be a statement of suspecting something as it is suspecting something is not. It completely changes how you view the play, and leaves it up to reader interpretation. A striking examples is shown when you consider the love poem he reads to Ophelia,
"Doubt thou the stars are fire,
Doubt thou the sun doth move,
Doubt thou truth to be a liar,
But never doubt I love."
While this is today taken almost automatically as a profession of love, when one considers not only the duality of the meaning of doubt, but also that during Renaissance England all of these scientific facts were not accepted but rather of hot dispute, the side of which Shakespeare or Hamlet was on we cannot be sure. Without this reading we'd accept it as a 'well-written' love poem, because of this deeper reading it becomes something that we consider a part of the greatest literature of all time.

You'd think my Anivia would be better than it was given how great my walls are.
Actually never-mind those are clearly well spaced paragraphs the first one was only a sentence you can deal with that.

So guys, an update on my situation:
I just spoke to a few surgeons, almost had a stroke when I saw the cost of the surgery. Its a 9 digit sum X_X
My dad is selling his truck to help me pay for it, so that should cover over 60% of the cost, but the other 40% (which is about what both me and my wife earn together in a year and a half.) is gonna be a pain to get.
They do have a payment plan, but its not very generous, I have to pay 70% of the cost upfront, and only about 30% over the next months. Which leads us to the next part:
I'm fired ='(
The restaurant said I was a liability, and since I'm not fit for work anymore, nor will I be for several months, they could not afford to keep me on the payroll doing nothing, so I'm out. So we can add unemployment to my list of problems. Perfect.
Things just keep piling up =/
At least I've had some good news, I found a clinic with a good rehab program that has a very affordable and accessible payment plan, so that's one concern out of my mind.
hey lonewolfe I really wanna know (wanna mentally prepare myself for it). How long does it usually takes to go through rehab after a knee surgery? Is it painful? per day how long are the sessions?
/sighs.
At least whenever I watch
this
I just can't feel sad, so I'll just put that video on a loop, and watch it for a few hours every day.
