I posted 5 Druid predictions for 2009 over on my blog:
http://moonglade-exalted.blogspot.com/2009/01/druid-predictions-for-2009.html
In short:
With the healing change GC keeps mentioning, Resto will be briefly, and severely, overpowered. And we will like it!
A SS of a Bear with 100k HP will be floating around the web.
Cat DPS will scale very poorly beyond the current raid instances. Again.
Something will be changed about Eclipse, but it will no better or worse once the dust settles.
Attack Power and Spell Power get consolidated in to a single stat, and everyone, casters and non casters alike, completely freaks out.

About the last bit with attack power and spell power, chances are they will ALWAYS stay different. You see, a druid with high values in this combined stat would end up with increases to both their feral and their casting dps. The whole idea is you're not supposed to be good at both.

Hmmm, I am not a theory crafter but don't you think the new "claw damage" system based on the DPS of the weapon will change DPS scaling ? I am not a DPS but Blizzard seems to try to fix that scale problem.
Also, I am a bit afraid of "stamina bears". Why take a bear that needs huge heals to stay alive while you can take a warrior with more damage mitigation ?

it's just a larger margin of error for bad healers.

In reference to Eclipse prediction:
In the end, after much heated debate and incredibly deep theorycrafting, it will still be no better or worse than it is now.
This is a very beautiful comment... and so entirely true that it sickens me.

THis would be just awful and i dont ever think we are going to see this. It would be stupid t o see rogues rolling against a healer or moonkin. /cry if this happens

And less over-healing to boot :D

Last night our feral Druid was telling me that he is seeing his DPS output start to scale unevenly already. For example, adding 20% attack power only giving a 5% damage increase. (Those are not real numbers, they are just to illustrate the idea.)
In BC, going from Tier 4 to Tier 6, I saw a doubling of AP and crit in my stats. My DPS went up maybe 25%.
So maybe this will be the one of the predictions I made that won't completely come back to bite me in the butt a year from now!

I'd like to see it, but this late in the game it is not going to happen. Hybrids would need to be rebuilt completely for hybrid spell/melee gear to function for them. They aren't powered just by power: you need raw stats like int/spirit/mp5 for casters and str/agi/expertise for melee. Baking power into the same stat would still require separate melee and caster gear sets, whereas making +damage and +healing the same was intended to minimize the split between caster and damage gear and minimize the amount of wasted loot.

All attributes (strength, agility, stamina, intellect, spirit) Will be merged into two stats.
Mental and Physical Strength.
All gear will have +PS or +MS. Or both.
Spellpower and Attackpower will be merged.
And the new class will be revealed,
Northrend Ranger
, who's adept at
roundhouse-kicking
enemies.
This, I predict.

caster restricion go away in moonkin and tree of life so you can cast all spells inside the forms
well moonkin will get a nerf in armor then...and its good to dream that you not feel that useless in solo

I don't have a prediction for 2009, but for 2010:
Druids await promised new form skins!
You are quite an optimist sir!
I am guessing 2012.

because a good bear tank finds the balance of armor, dodge, and hp. since we cant parry or block we would have to have more of the other stats to even it out. armor stays about same as war's and pallys of equal level gear we just end up with more stam and dodge since its not divided into parry and block as well.
