Earth Shield bug?

Today on my daily timed stratholme heroic runs i noticed that the mobs would aggro me if i had the tank ES'd... im not sure if this is correct or if its a bug that blizz needs to fix... i have noticed this in other occasions where adds are plentiful... It was always my assumption that ES was supposed to give the tanks EXTRA aggro as it is healing THEM when they are taking damage... Anyone having the same problem or am i misinformed on how the mechanic works?

Any healing they get from a spell that YOU cast counts as YOUR aggro. Not a bug/glitch, it's working just fine.

Essentially, Blizzard decided to fix a glitch from TBC when they did Wrath. They rebuilt Prayer of Mending, Earth Shield, etc to credit the caster instead of the buffee.

It's finally, after two years, working as intended.

I'm not noticing the agro gain if es is cast before you get in battle. :\ It might be retribution aura on my tanks is gaining the threat, but it might also be something to look into.

This goes for any aggro-generating buffs/spells. Put a HoT on a tank before he gets threat, the HoT ticks give him threat. Put a HoT on a tank after he gains threat, you get the healing threat.
