Enhancement Theorycrafting Question

Normally I'm elemental spec, but the guild I'm currently in requires you to have off sets so I'm collecting an enhancement set because my elemental set can work as a resto set. I got
Kel'Thuzad's Reach
a while back for my mainhand but I didn't get anything for an offhand really. I ended up getting
Split Greathammer
because no one needed it and I just kinda rolled on it for offset. Thing is it's a fast weapon so I wasn't sure it would work. My question is...
Can you get your full amount of DPS with a slow main hand and a fast offhand if your using Flametongue for your offhand and WF for your main hand?

Well the only reason I'm wondering is because if you have FT as your offhand it shouldn't mess up your WF procs on your MH. I'll have to get
Stalactite Chopper
for an offhand and test it on a dummy.

Acutally, with Slow/Slow, WF/FT is better :P
Especially with 5/5 Elem Focus.

Ahh...no. Any time you use FT, faster is always better. It's multiplied by spell power and the more often it strikes the higher damage output you'll have.
FT does not work in the same way that WF does.
As far as the other comments, slow/slow WF/WF > slow/fast WF/FT, until you stack enough spellpower, where fast+FT will nudge past slow+WF on the off-hand.

I see alot of conflicting arguments here, I currently use slow/slow WF/FT. After lots of testing on dummies including =
1. Crimson Steel/WF=====Hand Of Nerub/FT
2. Crimson Steel/WF=====The Stray/FT
3. Crimson Steel/WF=====The Stray/WF
combo no.2 came out ontop, by a lead of 150dps or so, I took into account RNG and tested each combination multiple times and slow/slow WF/FT always provided the most dps.
Flametongue Weapon
Flametongue has become much more viable due to the merging of Hit and Crit rating into a universal rating. Flametongue is now capable of performing as well or better than Windfury on the Off Hand in most cases. Flametongue scales best on a fast weapon because of the flat 10% spell damage coefficient across weapon speeds, but fast weapons interact poorly with Lava Lash. Fast Weapons are still viable in the OH though, as long as the fast weapon will be a significant stat and DPS upgrade over your currently equipped weapon, to outweigh the loss to Lava Lash through the gains in Flametongue DPS.
Basically if the weapon is a big dps/stat upgrade, it doesn't matter if it is fast, but you still want to be aiming to pick up a slow weapon to maximize your dps.
Be looking to pick up Angry Dread from Noth The Plaguebringer for a significant OH upgrade.

The thing with Slow working better with FT at start is that LL and SS will hit harder, making a slow OH prefered until you stack enough SP for the FT effect alone to overdps the additional damage on SS/LL

Do take note that the faster the OH, the more FT crits you get, and with double crit damage, that can add up :P

Okay, a bit off-topic, but the last two posts just made me wonder. Since they deal Fire damage, do Lava Lash criticals proc Elemental Devastation? How about Flametongue crits, then?
Edit: I really don't know, couldn't try it, so it's a straight on question.
No, it doesn't. Only your shocks/lightning bolts/chain lightning will proc ED.
