Extinguishing the Cataclysm - Horde - Twilight Highlands is disappearing.

I have been trying to extinguish the flame south of Thundermar in Twilight Highlands. When i walk up to it, it disappears. When I walk away it reappears. Is there a chain of quests that I have to do before this will not disappear? It is only on one character. I went on someone's character and do not have this problem.

You most likely have a few quests you need to do. It sounds like you're phased in the zone. Which is why you can see it far away but when you get closer it disappears, the same thing happens with mining nodes and herbs.
