I know that feral combat doesn't quite compare to what a rogue might be able to do in arenas but I'm just curious to see what one might look like.

the only spec that is worth anything in arena is resto. being able to root, cyclone, and heal while dancing out of los makes it a great build for arena.
feral just doesn't cut it. arena is mostly crowd control and healing to outlast your opponents. as a feral druid you wont have easy access to any crowd control other than a stunlock that is usually trinketed out of.

the only purpose i have in arena is a distraction. i usually put on tank gear, go bear and charge the healer and swipe spam and everyone's eye is on me while my team focus fires others.
if it's 2v2 i usually stunlock one to the best of my ability while my partner burns the other. pounce, maim, charge, bash, cyclone x3 and hopefully your teammate burned the other one.
if you actually try to kitty dps you'll get the fun "you're too far away" bug and you are pretty gimp without any ability to kick a caster or any kind of real stuns like cheap shot or blind or gouge... and you cant access cyclone as a kitty which is what makes druid actually useful in arenas.
sadly any druid in a 2000+ team is usually resto and just los dances with hots and cyclones the other team's healer to interrupt casting -shrug-

I worship the ground that Deep walks on, thus, I copied his spec:

Yes. Deep has a 2200+ rating on both his teams (2v2 and 3v3) and is full feral, so it clearly is possible.
From my experience it's damn hard though. Like posters before said, ferals kinda lack CC utility. One (small) benefit from this is that in 3v3 and 5v5 you can rest assured
nobody
will try to attack you untll the rest of your team is dead. It's unlikely anyone will even try to CC you, so you are free to shred shred shred until someone is dead dead dead.
So as for spec just go for standard feral dps specc. As for the tactics, attack first. If they get jumped by you first and retaliate by attacking you, they have messed up. Try to team up with other good burst DPS classes, because that's what ferals are good for in arena. Only pop to assist healing or cyclone after the first 10-20 secs when your burst dmg is over. Another strong feature of ferals in arena is if your team are all dead and the enemy has medium-low health no healer, go bear for the win. Even if you can't win, the survivability of bear vs melee is funny. I recall in 2v2 when my hunter buddy died and I had about 1/4 health left, i went bear and it took the enemy rogue and resto druid 9 minutes (yes 9!) to kill me.
A light on the horizon for ferals in arena are these beauties:
Season 3 Feral Gloves
Check the bonus:
Equip: Causes your Maim ability to interrupt spellcasting and prevent any spell in that school from being cast for 3 sec.
... nice!
