FFB Arcane (PvE)

I've been a primary frost mage for years, but since WotLK came out, a combination of frost not performing as well as I'd like in addition to simply being a little bored with the spec caused me to try a full arcane spec.

I loved it. I loved the utility, and the dps was nothing to sneeze at. However, we all know Arcane Blast is broken. I know I can't perform as well as I'd like with an arcane spec if I'm using Arcane Blast in my rotation, until it's fixed, and yet I can't imagine using anything else would be much use either. But hear me out.

I then specced a fairly cookie cutter FFB, reglyphed, and am doing respectable DPS (well, against bosses. Trash is a different animal) I never cared for Fireball specs and hated having to stack Scorch, but the new glyph makes it doable for me, and I like the usefulness of FFB's double dipping in talent trees.

But I miss the utility of Arcane. And not just as a secondary; I miss deep arcane. But I also love the effect of a stacked Scorch, and the potential for Torment the Weak, assuming it works with FFB. Is there a viable raiding/five man Arcane/FFB spec that involves an Arcane Barrage rotation with stacked Scorch and FFB for Torment the Weak? Or am I trying too hard here?

Just trying to get the most out of a class I'm not ready to shelf yet. :) I love my mage too much to just say I'm all-out bored.

I suspected as much. >.< Really, it was a last ditch effort to try and keep some of my glyphs if I do respec to Arcane. I have a feeling, if I'm using Torment the Weak and want to make use of it on my rotation (instead of with just Slow alone) that Frostbolt would be a better way to go. But is the lower DPS worth it?

And you're right. Ultimately, if I find Arcane fun, I should go back to it. But I'm running a lot of heroics with my friends, and I like to feel like I'm contributing a fair chunk of the DPS, which, with a melee-intensive group, is really difficult sometimes. ^^;
