I believe the rate for fishing attempts to be 100% successful in all ground-level Terokkar Forest fishing spots is 450. You should level fishing higher before attempting to fish Golden Darters at a decent rate. Zangarmarsh would be a good place for you to start (Zangarian Sporefish is also useful for raiding).

You think that i can fish in Zangar with 250 in skill :) ?

If you use a +100 lure then yes, it would work. But for maximum efficiency you should probably fish outside of Outland until you are 300.

the daily cooking quest reward (the barrel of fish) frequently includes darter fish, too

Yeah, thought of that too, was suppose to go "Azshara" and fish now but our servers are down =|
DON'T fish in azshara... It's needlessly difficult, and you don't get any fish that you can't catch in feralas at a much lower fishing skill requirement. Fishing in the central "pool" of azshara requires above 300 skill to avoid "getaways". :(

In fact, for the easiest time fishing you should probably fish in a sub-30 zone. Remember: you can skill up to maximum proficiency even inside a starting area, and if your skill is much higher than the requirement to fish at that location the fishies will bite quicker and you'll catch more fish/minute. If your skill is poor compared to the requirement, the fish will bite less often and they'll get away too, making you annoyed and waste your time...

So, do it the easy way okay. :)

It's 375 buffed fishing skill to catch fish sucessfully without the repeted 'your fish got away' messages from the 'Bay of Storms' area in Azhara - 335 to be able to cast - and well worth it to do.

Some of the fish that you can catch there can only be caught there thus it's a good way to make some easy gold!

Large Raw mightfish makes some of the only food and definately the easiest to obtain at level 45 that increases stamina.

and

Darkclaw Lobster which is GREAT to level cooking to 300.

Winter Squid although can be caught in a couple of other places makes some great + agility food for all the rogue twinks out there

as well you can catch Stonescale Eel for Alchemists while your doing all the other fishing.

If I spend 2 hours fishing I can come out with 2 stacks of each and make at least 50g on selling the raw/cooked products in the AH.

Probably level 70's can make more but for lower level characters who can fish its REALLY nice coin ;)

Just an FYI here:

You can level fishing anywhere in the world. For example, all the capital cities have water that is fishable, so you can fish, monitor your trade channel and gain rest state all at the same time. Granted, the fish you will catch will completely suck.
