i want to bring here
this mmo champ thread
where people asks how the various dmg reduction effect we have available stack on us -> exists a resilience soft-cap.
since i'm not a PvPer, but i like crunching numbers, is there anyone willing to help with some information or the solution? thanks.

the question is: how the various dmng reduction effects stacks?
we have:
- imp. recuperate (6%)
- deadened nerves (10%)
- combat readiness (up to 50%)
- resilience.
it's not a matter of "gem resi or not" it's a question of how these effects works toghether.

As far as I know (and I'm just speculating here),
Combat Readiness
comes before Armor, and then
Improved Recuperate
,
Deadened Nerves
and Resilience together; meaning they don't stack. In other words, it's impossible to see a full "immune" attack.
For example, let's say I get hit by a
physical
attack for 10000 and I have Recuperate and Combat Readiness with 5 stacks active, also all physical attacks are reduced by 28% because of my Armor and my Resilience reduces all player's damage by 32%. Then the attack will be cut in half for Combat Readiness (striking for 5000), then my armor reduces 28% of those 5000 (which is 3600), and THEN that damage is reduced by Imp. Recuperate, Deadened Nerves and Resilience, which in this case make a total of 48%. So only
1872
of the whole 10000 would hit me.
But again, I'm just speculating from my own experience.

That's interesting: let's say a warrior uses
Lolstorm
, then you activate
Feint
and
Combat Readiness
...Would you be able to get an "immune" when CR stacks 5 times? Mmh...I sense some testing coming.

Blizzard should really make a blue post about how damage reduction multipliers interact with each other. I could really make an effort to do some investigation and try to comprehend which multipliers stack and/or in which order they reduce damage. Too bad I can't play until march because of some damn tests...

going forward, now looking for 4.0.6, i'll need to update something and probably i'll dedicate myself entirely to druid combo bar (eclipse bar is done and fully functional :P)
