Just a couple of things to note. If you use Mage Armor, his Slow will only last about 8 seconds instead of 15.
Of course, the Arcane mage is probably also using Mage Armor, making your Frost nova last only 4 seconds.

As arcane spec all u need to do is press 2 buttons.
