That means my paladin is currently walking around with 18% spell damage mitigation. At present, an Unholy DK is the only one that comes close to that passive magic damage reduction, and they still have 8% to go. WIth 3.0.8, Unholy will be superior, but Paladins will still beat both Blood and Frost tanks for passive magic damage reduction.
Not sure if you realize it or not but what you just said is wrong. DK tanks take a pasive 15% less dmg from just putting on frost presense after the next patch. Plus we are getting 80% more armor now too, which is own that melee mitigation. AND we are getting 25 def+ and 2% more stam on our runeforge. So basically, with frost aura and acclimation my spell resist can get pretty high. I know with a hunter I was in the upper 200s with nature resist. Oh if only taurens still had a better passive for nature resist...

ya the icy talons would be better replaced by maxxed black ice, rime, glacier rot and frost strike. i dont see the big deal with tundra stalker either. as a frost knight you dont need much expertise at all because expertise has no effect on magic strikes such as icy touch, frost strike, howling blast, pestilence, death and decay. i mean the extra damage is nice but if you want to be an anti caster tank by all means skill tundra stalker and go spell deflection. it will be just fine.
expertise isnt the best stat for magic dealing tanks. unless rune strike is the only skill you use tanking, get +hit rating and maybe virulence in unholy. DK tanks generate enough threat already to worry about the 10% increase in dmg. and if u dont have enough tps without it youre doing something wrong
nice build.. but consider not doing icy talons/imp icy talons, try maxing out black ice and go with rime or glacier rot.. keep improved icy touch.. and frost strike is nice as it adds a good combo move into the rotation along side runestrike and howling blast allowing nice burst damage while tanking.

ooo 10% big deal are u dps or a tank? if u cant hold aggro without this theres something wrong with you
and as for expertise.. its worthless unless u are a blood tank because blood is the only tree that has physical damage.. because in frost, the only physical damage ability you have is rune strike.. which cannot be dodged blocked or parried anyway.
and plague strike's initial dmg.. and who cares about white damage
tundra stalker is a dps talent. period

i think youre missing the point . and missing the fact that rune strike is our highest souce of threat, and becasue it cant be parried, dodged or blocked anyway. is extra nice.. and theyre even upgrading the threat generated in the new patch
everyone's right in their own eyes. i dont care do whatever the @#$% you want. theres more to generating threat than plague strike and obliterate. um if plague strike fails to land.. um try again...ya i guess i shouldnt of said expertise is worthless.. i should of said just this talent. DK's generate more than enough threat to not need tundra stalker
thats why you dont need this talent.. good luck staying alive without any extra mitigation if you go 50+ points in one tree
