Before someone calls me on Annihilation, note that Howling Blast is losing it's cooldown next patch, making it much more DPS/threat intensive, so that change is made here. If that change does not go live, then...

Acclimation is too random to be useful.
Hungering Cold... nope...
When boss is about to die and everybody pop their cooldown and start to Execute and whatnot, Merciless combat is way too useful to keep agro.

Ok, this is a good start...
@Hungering Cold: The pros I heard on this for tanking/DPS was that it mass-Frost Fever's everything for a nice Hungering Cold blast, and also the emergency CC in case of a bad pull or breaking of other CC. What's the negatives to this?
@Endless Winter: I assume this is because of the zero-cost spell interrupt portion, yes?

Yes for 0 focus interrupt.
And Hungering Cold, if you have enough mobs around you to want to use it to do a massive howling blast, you will use pestilence to spread disease anyway. Also, emergency CC never happen within 10yards and never happen when you have enough RP to use it.

I actually think Hungering Cold is an amazing talent. 10 second CC for 40 RP (in the new patch) which also applies Frost Fever allowing you to rip out two Howling Blasts.
It's a REALLY good talent for 1 point. You're there anyway so you may as well put a point into it.
I dunno...I'm inclined to agree with Wildhorn. Pestilence seems to be a stronger way of maintaining threat and getting the job of spreading the diseases done, esp. when glyphed. Perhaps if Hungering had a direct damage component with it, it'd be more favored. Right now, it reminds me of the power Frozen Aura from City of Heroes, and anyone that's familier with that will tell you that for two years NOBODY took that power until they finally added a damage value to it.
