Fury warrior vs. ret paladin in raids
Return to board index

I'm not familiar with paladins at all, let alone retribution builds, and I'm not a high-level warrior, but from what I've seen on forums Fury Warriors offer high DPS (Bloodthirst, Rampage, Flurry, Cruelty, etc.), crowd control (Sweeping Strikes, and Cleave stack very well in addition to Whirlwind) and buffs (Battle Shout to raise party damage, Demoralizing to lower enemy damage and Commanding Shout to boost hp).
Maybe a more experienced warrior could tell you more, or at least in more detail.
Warriors doesn't have any crowd control :)
Normally you'll have one off warrior slot in 25er raids or so. An off warrior isn't a supporter. The only support he brings is his battle shout for rogues and other melee classes. If you're arms specced you have a lil bit of support, because of a 4% dmg debuff on the mob when a bleeding effect was applied.
A ret paladin offers more support than an off warrior, there is no way around, but i would say an off warrior does more damage ;)
blademeld here again.
It's important to have both fury warriors and retribution paladins in a 25 man
here's the blantant truth:
Ret paladins bring:
Extra buff for all classes
Judgements on the target (2~3 usually) which restore hp, mana and 3% crit to everyone
spot healing and cleanse
2% damage bonus to his/her party
in case of a prot paladin, 10% threat ceiling increase
Fury warriors bring:
extra HP/attack power through shouts (more than other warriors)
mob swinger slowing debuff (2.0 to 2.4)
bit more DPS than the ret paladin
disarm (druid or paladin tank)
both classes have unique attributes they can bring to a raid and neither should be overlooked
