I know it makes sense, but that doesn't stop the message being a cliché. :P Also, I liked the fact Hal was snarky (seems like a theme with Reynolds, and I think it's good that he's a comic book geek too). And did you say it was
better
than the Dark Knight? :O
Hal was always snarky; he's one of the few who stood up to Bat's...and actually punched him out once after calling him out. And yes; was not a fan of Heath Ledger's Joker so GL wins in my book.

Finished watching Emerald Knights; better then Batman Gotham Nights but most of the stories were just 'Tales of the Green Lantern Corps' comic rehashes...and the over all story kind of meh, since it randomly had
Krona
appearing.

Just saw GL, it was ok... but it was no Dark Knight. It was better than the Superman and certinly better than *shudders* Catwoman. IMO Marvel holds the crown yet again this summer, this was a good movie but not as good as Xmen and Thor.

So good. Soo, soooo good. One of the best pieces of scifi in the last 10 years.
So I got to watch that theatrical extended edition of the
Two Towers
, and it did not disappoint; probably my favorite theatrical movie experience ever. Watching a 4 hour epic like that made me feel like it was back in those days when movies were longer, when you could get away with massive epics like
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
or
Ben Hur
, to name a few. I wish it was more like that nowadays.
I have a real hard time taking LOTR as seriously now, though, because A) a really bizarre kid in my class had a terrible, hilariously bad Gollum impression he always used, and B) Grima Wormtongue looks like Tommy Wiseau on drugs.

Finally someone agrees.

Yeah, a lot of people my age didn't like it for some reason. Mainly cause personally knowing a lot of them, they went in expecting a mindless Michael Bay action movie, and couldn't sympathize with the aliens (even though the little baby one was adorable as &*!@, I will freely admit that)

District 8 was okay. It was great if you looked at it as a comedy.

Not sure what special screening you're talking about, but I took my girlfriend last month to a concert where they screened the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring, along with a full orchestra and two choirs playing/singing through all the background music throughout the entire movie.

I was talking to my manager the next day and was all like "I can see them doing a sequel with Sinestro and the yellow lanterns", to which he replied "They showed that after the credits, didn't you see it?" "..........No..."Wasn't all the way after the credits; just after the fancy ones and before the start of the scrolling ones.
As a general question: Does the XBox360 have a Blu-Ray player in it? or is that just the PS3? I'm wanting to start picking up Blu-Ray movies and I don't even know if I have the hardware for it... >_<Nope; didn't the 360 go with the HD DVD instead of the Blu-Ray?

They're digitally remastering the movies for Blu-Ray, and so Peter Jackson commissioned screenings in theaters across America (not sure about the rest of the world, but I assume so since he isn't exactly American) last week, this week and next week, one night showings only, each Tuesday. Return of the King is next week, and I'm stoked. It's the extended editions as well, so 4-5 hours for each movie.

No, you'll have to get a PS3 or a dedicated Blu-Ray player.
As Adamsm mentioned, the 360 bidded on HD-DVD, which flopped. Also, to do the HD-DVD, you had to buy a USB add-on - it wasn't built into the 360.

Watched
Beauty and the Beast earlier
, it's still so iconic. Easily one of Disney's greatest ever films.
:D
