i have been wondering since Wild Growth is going to get a nerf (6 sec CD) is it really that good anymore to put talents in? i know its not going to be a waste to put it in but i was wondering bout this spec i was toying around with
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0VGfu0I0hZZf0IubuxVuV0R
i know i waste a few talent points but i gain Spell power, Mana per 5, and i gain 3% haste for the Loss of Gift of the Earthmother, Wild growth and Replenish

Just because Wild Growth has a 6 second Cooldown, doesn't make it a bad spell. It's still very needed, but not a spell you can spam (like Circle of Healing).

actually, CoH gets the exact same cooldown, so neither are going to be spammable..
/target blizz
/bad
I know, but Circle of Healing
was
more spam-friendly since it healed everything upfront, instead of healing as a HoT.
And it's a good change. More diversity in spells used as healers. :)

What do you need 3% haste so badly for you'll trade those off?
Edit: Yeah sure the 3% haste isn't all you're getting, but tbh the trade-offs are just too much, as a druid you should have enough mana regen as is so you wouldn't need the extra regen, and the useless balance talents are simply too much.

Just remember to take improved Tranquility...
It crosses all party lines in raids with massive hps, and the talent takes it to a 4 minute CD and zero threat. A very good supplement for raid aoe healing.

My issue with WG is that it doesn't hold much weight when I can only heal 5 people with it ever. Given that I haven't seen great results now without spamming it to get 10-15 raid members covered in an aoe fight, I feel like it no longer has the Pow that a 51 point talent should have. On the other hand I gain 100 sp and 75-100 mp5, which means I can start pushing more regrowths.
If it hits 5 people who all need healing, the healing it does is huge. For one GCD and modest mana cost, it's impressive.
You are right though that massive regen would allow you to use Regrowth spamming more often as your raid heal**. I used to do this in BC by chaining mana pots and it put me right behind the shamans on the meter, far above the other druids.
It all comes down to playstyle, situations, specific encounters, and how your raid plays in general.
I personally would not give up a unique AoE healing spell for straight stat boosts (the mp5 and the SP), nor would i ever ever give up GotE when raiding.
** - if you go for trigger happy Regrowthing, you might want to check the viability resto PvP sets. They have much more PvE friendly stats now (a lot of spirit), and the 4-set bonus will be as potent as ever. Equivalent to hundreds of haste rating for your Regrowths.

generaly now that WotLK hit with getting to 80, its LBx3 rejuv then if the tank needs topping spam nourish rinse repeat as needed
Good druids use LB, Rejuv, Regrowth, WG, Nourish, Tranquility, HT and Swiftmend when raid healing. You do actually need almost all the spells to be better than average at it.
