Have the DK tank pick the boss. Release Time Warden and Nether Scion at once, and tank them as a Warrior. Pop Heroism to blast the Time Warden down asap. Tell the DK to use Dancing Runic Weapon as soon as goddamn possible. When the DK gets like 7 stacks, have him taunt the Nether Scion off you, and you taunt Halfus. Pop Shield Wall. Finish off the Time Warden and switch to Nether Scion.
The Nether Scion can really reduce the damage Halfus does, and additionally, he decreases his chance to hit. That means debuffs will stack slower. DKs are the only tanking class that has a CD that increases avoidance by a fixed amount (Dancing Runic Weapon), which makes the stacks stack even slower. You should have enough time to damage Time Warden before the stacks on the DK go too high, so that once they reach 7 and you taunt Halfus, Time Warden is about to die.
As a Warrior, use all the damage reductions except for Shield Wall early in the fight, because that is when you will be getting the most damage. Save Shield Wall for when you will have Time Warden and Halfus on yourself at once. Your DK should use Icebound Fortitude when he gets Nether Scion while he has 7 stacks of the debuff.
Once Nether Scion and Time Warden die, release Slate and finish him off the standard way, with tanks switching drakes. Once Slate is up, tank damage should become rather light, because Halfus is gimped in all the ways he can be.
Tell your priest to move his lazy ass. If there was a player in my guild that would say he has to stand still and eat an avoidable AoE to cast effectively, he would not make it past Trial.

THANK YOU! These are great suggestions! Have to figure out the best way to kite the TW/Scion together but that shouldn't be a HUGE deal. Don't kite them, just tank them. Kite the boss....see explanation below.
Do what Thror said in terms of tanking, but have some fun with it as well. The warrior picks up the 2 drakes and tanks them. He is going to need the big heals and lust should be used at the beginning. Have you DK. Pull halfus from range and kite around the room. He can use
Swiftness Potion
and keep halfus running for a good 20 seconds . When your DK has good range from your priest, have the priest lifegrip him, and that will keep halfus running for another 10 seconds. There you go, 30 seconds of halfus running around. This will make sure your stack count is really low when you finally bring him into the group to start tanking him. It will also make sure that he doesn't hit you 4 times in a row right when you pull him, because he didn't have the hit debuff from Nether Scion.
Long story short tho. Your going to need to release 2 drakes at the same time. Time warden needs out because the fireballs are damage that you shouldn't be taking. Doesn't mater which you kill first, its nice that they are on 2 sides of the room, because again, you can release both and one of them will have a large distance to cover before he gets to your warrior tank.
You also said you had a paladin in the group? when you DK gets to 12 stacks,
Blessing of Protection
him, and then
him. That will drop the stacks and your DK can keep tanking Halfus. You wouldn't need to swap that way. Remember, don't be scared of Halfus, he doesn't hit that hard, its the debuff that will slow down the heals is all. The drakes are what hurts the most. Kill one, and you guys should be able to finish the fight.
Cheers,
Hat

Could do this, otherwise make sure both of your tanks have a /cancelaura macro for HoP, and call it in vent. The tank can start spamming it and with luck HoP will only be up for about a third of second.

If you move as soon as the fire is under you then it will follow to your new location and cause another 3 pulses.
This is
not
accurate. If you moved soon, and there was more fire underneath your feet, it was because of a new fireball, not because of the old one. As soon as you see fire under your feet you can move to a safe location.

Release two Drakes (Time Warden and Nether Scion in this instance), pop Blood Lust/Heroism and tank Halfus on top of the Drakes so he can take some extra cleave-damage. He takes a lot more damage if you use this method with Whelps in your Drake composition.
Not any more.
He doesnt get the debuff untill last whelp is dead, so releasing multiple adds just to get the debuff is pointless.
Source
(read under halfus).
You also dont want Halfus to go under 50 and start aoeing and knockbacking your healers before the adds are under control (aka dead).

He does the knockback regardless of his HP, assuming you have the Storm Rider that reset and if you don't he has no knockback.
At 50% he starts AoE stunning your healers, but any raid that is aoeing/dpsing the whelps with cleave damage on Halfus will easily burn through the 4M combined hp of the whelps (less if using "true" aoe) before reducing Halfus hp by the 16M needed to bring him to 50%.

They way we did it with the setup was:
The Drood tanked Halfus, while I picked up Scion first. The Hunter opened Time Warden and misdirected it to me. We popped Blood-Lust as soon as I had good aggro and blew through Scion, then Time-Warden. When the Druid reached ten stacks, the Pally bubble'd him to drop the stacks. We have some pretty insane DPS for normal modes, so we figured we might as well pop Slate and take him out to. I taunted Halfus off the Druid who ran and picked up Slate, who we burned, and then just murdered Halfus. Slate is optional, and if you're healers are feeling stressed, I'd skip him.
My guild's general rule for Halfus is:
Always pop whelps in the beginning, but not first thing as they get AOE'd down and really don't hurt your tanks too much. Less damage on raid, not much damage on tank, more damage on Halfus. Usually we have one of our ranged wait until I've released whatever other drakes are up and need releasing, then I'll walk over there and drop Death and Decay by the cage, and he'll release.
Other then that, our priority is as follows.
1. Storm Rider
2. Scion (if slate is up as well, if not then he's below Time Warden)
3. Time Warden
4. Slate
