Have Heirlooms.
Do all of the Dungeons at least once since the Quest Exp for them is nice.
Move on to the next zone as soon as possible.
Hit 85 do the main hubs in each Pandaren zone and run instances.
Level in less then a week.

Having 6 90s and working on my 7th: I hear you. I've actually just been leveling my rogue through AV and dungeons (LFD) when I feel like it. I just ALT-TAB out of the game until I hear the queue pop. If you are Alliance it's a great way to level easy. You just sit in tower and get XP for not really doing anything.

Maybe it is me but i take months to learn the keybinds of a class.Having three or four new skills every other day does not really help either.
I rather have slower leveling, even without heirlooms it goes way faster then i am able to master.
Maybe i am just getting to old to play WoW :(

Not in the least.
I just started with 9 brand new toons on Venture Co and I'm having a blast. Highest is 53. Lowest is 15. Leveling without Heirlooms and many guild bonuses is refreshing.
Cheers.

"My question is, is anyone able to level 1-90 in decent time anymore?"
I am not sure what you consider to be decent time, but I have gone 1-90 in about 5 weeks. I enjoy the 1-60 ride, the 60-80 is a bore, 80-85 is better but still dull and 85-90 has enough novelty to keep it interesting.

Hey all,
I'd first like to say i have a few high level characters, a 90 rogue, then a druid, pally, mage and warrior all 80+, as well as a few in the 60's... So I've done a good bit of leveling...
My question is, is anyone able to level 1-90 in decent time anymore? If you decide to pick up on a new class, starting fresh, it takes about 5 played days to completely level, and personally, once i get to outland, with about 1.5 days under that characters belt, im sick of it...
Wondering if anyone felt the same way? Or has any tricks they do while leveling to make it go by faster?
Well, my opinion on this kind of thing is that leveling is a mechanic of the game and should be part of the enjoyment you get out of it--either as a challenge or a way to force you to rough it through lower-level content so you can "experience" it. If it only takes you five days to skip through like 40% of the game's content, my response is, well, (and I realize this isn't the type of answer you're looking for, let alone the popular one) maybe it should take longer. I personally enjoy leveling new characters and reliving the content and think this process is plenty fast enough, already. Plus, along the way you can build up your rep, achievements, professions, etc.
The only thing I could really recommend is the aforementioned BoA's--which make a massive difference, obviously--and the usual guild perks.

I detest what they did with Talents & Abilities - you get them at lvl up, they pop on your screen and dissapear - if you're in a dungeon or a bg or having pulled a couple of quest mobs, you cannot really read through at the moment, right? So you have to open your book (which is, for some reason ordered alphabetically) while mobs/players are hiting you and search for whatever is NOT in your action bar. Tedious and stressfull.
What was wrong with going to the trainer in your own time, reading the abilities through as you learn them, making appropriate key bindings while comfortably sitting in Orgrimmar or Stormwind on a warm summer morning? Why do I have to analyse and read through the abilities while standing in some quagmire or instance or battleground, lest I forget all about them afterwards? Should I keep PostIt notes on my monitor to avoid forgetting an ability that just popped?
The usual result is that you reach lvl 90 and then find out that you had an ability for 40 lvls that you never used.
To the op - I don't know how you're lvling, but I get into an area, take all the quests and queue for dungeons and battlegrounds - and if a dungeon group is right we do a couple more, and a couple more, and when I'm out to repair and vendor trash the quests I took are grey... So no, It's far from too slow. At very low lvls with full looms I did 3 lvls per dungeon a couple of times, with all the quests and mobs and full rested. It's more like too fast, actually.

personally i think first time players should rush too lvl 90 but enjoy the leveling content.
but for alts, well this week i intend too level my monk agian a bit Exp buffs i got active: BoA chest/shoulders/helmet/cloak/pants/ring 50% exp gained , monk 50% exp buff:
Enlightenment
, DMF ride 10% expbuff:
WHEE!
and ofcourse guild perks:
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=78632
. also
Battle Standard of Coordination
(15% for best version, but there also a 10% and 5% version) and if you tried farming a certain rare you can also add
Elixir of Ancient Knowledge
which gives a massive 300% exp gain for chars below lvl 85.
during special events might add another 10% like pilgrim's bounty
The Spirit of Sharing
or midsummer fire festival:
Ribbon Dance
and haloween's
Unburdened
also people who use the Recruit a Friend program both get 300% exp gain as long as they stay within reasonable levels of each other. which removes things like BoA gear from the inviter else it would go far too fast.
lots of these can be all used at the same time which should make leveling a trivial matter for alts, and quite some can be used for new chars so that shouldnt pose a problem also.

I, for one, like taking my time leveling. I already have a main who experiences all the end game content, and having a few lowbies to experience the different parts of world that I missed on my other toons is a nice refresher from raiding and doing dailies.

Would be nice to be able to sort them by level learned - I wonder if that could be done via an addon...

I recently started a paladin without heirlooms as a part of a friendly leveling challenge and I was really pumped about making it to 90 as fast as possible.. some days later I hit 61 and was bored as hell so I gave up on the grind for now. Might still level the character later but to do 1-90 on a certain character without heirlooms and not playing any other characters while doing so is just impossible these days =P

I always keep a few buttons on the main action bar empty because of this so when I get new skills they get added to those spots automatically and I can take a look at them when I have a chance.

Why are they ordered alphabetically? They should let us sort them by level, active veruss passive and in a variety of other ways so we can go back and make sure all the abilities are on our bars.

They are ordered by Active and Passive after you've learned them.
