Healing Death Knight tanks

Hi all,

I just wondered how you were getting on healing death knight tanks and whether you are holy or disc spec while doing it.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm having some really bizarre experiences. One day I'll instance with a DK tank in blues, and we'll be just fine. The next I'll go with a full epic DK tank who i know as a good druid tank in TBC (who says he is tank specced) and the damage will pretty much be unhealable. Pretty much everytime i go with a DK tank i see a different style and its either really really good (as in, wow i love DK tanks!) or a complete nightmare.

I'm in a pretty standard holy spec, with mostly entry level 80 blues some badge epics and some 25 man epics and I'm not finding it too hard with other tanks.

I don't know if it is because they are new to the class, if its their spec, if the class struggles on certain instances/bosses. I know very little about them if I'm honest but they make me uncomfortable! How are you finding healing them?

Hey thanks,

I spoke to some DKs and found out that apparently there is some kind of bug in the game right now where they drop from 75% to dead on normal hits occassionally. I think i've seen this twice now.

Also they said the DK is very cooldown dependant so when the cooldown is off they take very little damage but when it goes on they spike heavily.

And apparently the "tank spec" is very unclear for them, where a tank should spec 5/5/5 and then take tanking skills from all of the trees, frost being more aoe and blood being more single target.

So I think my issue is mainly due to DK's learning their spec, class and Blizzard having to iron out some bugs. Apparently when bone shield is off cooldown they become very fragile but this is being fixed in next patch. Hope it helps somebody!
