I am only 72, but I think a lot of it is exactly what you pointed out ... not knowing what to expect.
Take Ingvar (UK).
At first, I didn't know the fight. It wasn't pretty not understanding all Ingvar's abilities. Sure, I could of looked up the web site cheats, but as a rule, I tend to not like to do that.
Once I knew the routine, at times its very easy. Tank has good mitigation. DPS stays away from Dark Smash, etc. I know to stop casting before Roar and throw AE heal after Roar.
Other times, I am at the very limit of what I can do, even knowing the encounter. Tank takes a lot of damage. DPS are constantly taking damage. I find it very hard to heal tank and DPS at the same time.
But frankly, I figure, if you don't die a handful times learning an encounter, it's too easy.
PS - I never used Grid before WOTLK, but now, I am not sure I could live without it. It's very nice to see who has aggro, who has a heal dot on them, who is debuffed.

Or drag out raid frames whilst in a raid, combine these with mouse-over macro's for the poor man's / I don't like add ons man healbot.
I've looked over the armory link and your numbers look capable of healing heroic's, so perhaps other members of your group are letting you down?
Stopcast Greater Heal's on the tank rather than wasting mana on Flash Heals.
Make sure you use your trinkets when available, build them into your macros if needs be!

In the post right above yours Newfield he explains why he's wearing Shadow t7 although I'm not quite sure why he didn't pass it for a shadow priest. Possibly there weren't any in the raid. My advice would be to find a solid tank and stick with him. I know how many bad DK tanks there are running around BR right now.
