Nope. You're going to buy mail which will change to leather when you send them to your hunter. They will then return to mail at the proper level (40?).
These are the heirlooms you should buy:
Champion Herod's Shoulder
Champion's Deathdealer Breastplate
Tarnished Raging Berserker's Helm
