Hey, I'm trying to work out the most effective build I can for the situation I'm in.
Being one of the first to hit 80 of the possible Tanking classes in my guild, I've decided that I want to try and give tanking a shot. However, because I can't always predict when they'll need a DPS or when they'll need a Tank, and because I don't want to have to respec every time I go into a dungeon, I've decided to try and make a hybrid build that allows me to do both DPS and Tank, with two sets of gear of course.
So far I've tried playing all 3 trees and really I found I like Blood the best because of the high single-target DPS and the self healing (gotta do those dailies, and when specced blood you never have to rest). So, I'm trying to make a blood build that will allow me to tank (when wearing +defense and +stamina gear) and also DPS (when wearing +strength and +crit gear).
I've done pretty good tanking what I have, especially for a n00b tank, with my only real struggle being large groups of mobs rushing everyone at once (like the dreaded hallway boss in Utgarde Pinnacle). That is why I took Morbidity, and that seems to be helping a lot.
Here is my current spec. My goal is to find the ideal build and ideal rotation for both situations. Being able to tank effectively is more important than maxing my DPS, but I want to be able to enter an 80 dungeon or a Heroic and be able to keep up with (even if I can't surpass) the other DPS, just not falling so far behind that I'm hurting the party more than helping.
I'm open to any suggestions, even radically respeccing to Frost / Unholy builds (though, again, I'm naturally predisposed to not like them because I'm a blood-specced player at heart).http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jcEMqc0IsfRzuAo0xZcg
My current rotation is pretty much
DPS = IT -> PS -> HS -> HS -> OB -> DC
Tank (one target) = IT -> PS -> HS -> DS -> HS ->DS (with RS as available)
Tank (multi-target) = IT -> PS -> Pest -> DnD (with RS as available)

While frost is a bit lackluster in solo survivability, don't discount unholy's self heals. Unholy offers an extra disease, which allows your death strike to heal an extra quarter from what it used to (meaning a 4k heal turns into a 5k heal), and while you lose some of the other talents, you don't need them too bad in most solo situations. I am currently an unholy tank/DPS hybrid, and I do pretty well in all 3 genres (solo and the other 2).This
is the build I'm currently using, and in a sporatic compilation of unenchanted greens, blues, and 3 purples (including my weapon) I pull about 1900-2k DPS in heroics while DPSing, and still do about 1600 in my tank set (which is almost completed from heroics) while tanking. In solo, I rarely go down more than 1-2k in health, and if I do I can trust my death strike to heal me for 5-6k on a crit.
As to your build, if you are not going down in frost for Annihilation, I would skip epidemic, as your obliterate eats your diseases anyway.
