Heroic tanking question

What are the stats for lvl 80 heroic tanking? I know I need 540 defense rating but I forget what exactly the other requirements are.

Now, as for stats. Yes. 20-22k health is about right. You'll want 21-23k armor. 45% passive avoidance is impossible if you are crit capped (unless you are forgetting to include Miss in your avoidance. If you are, you really need to stop doing that). 55% passive avoidance is right about where you should be sitting to start. If you can get it higher, it will be in your best interests.

Out of curiosity, how do you include Miss in your avoidance? I currently sit at 45% passive avoidance/546 defense/23k HP/23k armor. I assumed I was ready to start heroics, now I'm wondering where that extra 10% for passive avoidance comes from. Am I not calculating it correctly? Isn't it Dodge, Parry, and Block added together or am I missing something?

I dont know what other people think on this but i think prot palas should stop worrying about spell dmg weapons we have plenty of moves that work of weapon dmg rather than spell dmg since the patch

With the addition of hammer of the riteous (works off weapon dmg) and touched by the light (Increases your spell power by an amount equal to 30% of your Stamina)

So grab a bargin and get 1 of the 1H weapons from this quest http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12857

Thanks, that was exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. Using your formula there, it seems I have 57% passive avoidance, if I added everything up correctly. I really appreciate the help.
