Right now I'm specced 51/5/15 with points in Imp BoW but not Imp Conc Aura. For the most part I've been using wisdom on myself, but last night I entered Naxx and ended up using kings on myself instead of wisdom and for the first time noticed that I got nearly a 2k mana gain from it.

So now I'm sitting here and thinking which do I benefit more from. With Kings I get a nice mana boost that also triggers better divine pleas in addition to added health for extra little survivability just in case. Wisdom I just get some mp5 (granted a lot of mp5).

When the new talent trees first came out I went without imp BoW and used imp conc aura instead. Later on I kinda missed my buffed BoW and altered my spec to how it currently is. However, at that time I still used BoW instead of Kings on myself. Now I'm debating again whether I should switch back and go without imp BoW since I'm thinking about using King on myself unless someone else is bringing it to the group.

What do you other Healadins think? Is Kings>BoW?

If you have replenishment up with a 90-100% up time then kings will still be better after 3 minutes.

And don't forget the fact that from kings you will also gain additional crit chance as well as additional spell power. Intellect is arguably the best stat for a holy paladin.

well i aswell am wondering about this one, so did some quick math

BoW = 110 mp5s (yes its 109 this is just for easier sums)
thats 110 x 12 = 1320 mana per minute

BoK = 2k mana as you said, and an extra 500 mana per minute from divine plea

so after a minute:
BoW = 1320 mana gained
BoK = 2500 mana gained

after 2 minutes
BoW = 2640 mana gained
BoK = 3000 mana gained

after 3 minutes
BoW = 3960 mana gained
BoK = 3500 mana gained

so as you can see any fights less then 3 minutes kings is the better option. Any fights longer then wisdom is the better option.
However again... wisdom doesnt require divine plea to get any mana back, and kings does. Divine plea also reduces healing for that time, adding further to the case for BoW. On the upside for kings, it does increase healing slightly.

All this is pretty much useless in raids though as you should have both on you :D

You didn't factor in divine plea with blessing of wisdom, which would push it even higher than kings.

Divine Plea restores mana based on maximum mana pool, not mp5. How does BoW help DP at all?

What I was saying was that while he factored in mana return with blessing of kings and divine plea on every cooldown, he didn't factor in the blessing of wisdom amount + the divine plea amount on that side of the equation.

No he added the bonus mana you get from having a higher mana pool. He didn't factor in what he would get from divine plea at all. Only the difference caused by the different blessings. If you think about it for a sec you will see. :]

You're all forgetting that increased intellect = increased crits. even 2 more crit spells will make up the difference here, easily. If given the option for one or the other, you should go with Kings. Take both if you can though. ;-)

As holy you shouldn't be speccing into kings anyway!

Put your 18 points into ret, get your 8% spell crit, make your judgements add 3% more crit for the rest of the raid, and get improved might.

53 points in to holy. Lost of options with the last 2 points. Lower cost cleanse is my favorite!

O_o.... Wow... um.. lets go over this concept... Remember when Prot Paladins use to be thrown out of raids because they specd into divine strength instead of kings? Yea.. thats only over because of the fact that people finally got it thru there heads that Str helps blocking >_< now... Holy Paladins with out kings! O_o oh noes... oh noes indeed.. Kings helps everyone including the Holy Paladin in 5 mans and even raids where there are no Ret paladins who decided out of there good graces to spend ther points on kings... Kings = most wanted buff of all classes... you drop if for the extra 3% crit is a selfish waste as ur tank cant gain 10% stats... ur int (which u get crit percentage form anyway O_o and sp and larger and pool) cant gain 10%... ur missing out iwth out kings man... and its better to be safe than sorry when people ask u for kings and u say "I Dont Need kings..." and they say...".....GTFO We need a Paly With Kings Dammit!"
as for lowering the cost of cleanse....O_o really is cleanse making go OOM? if so ...WoW the dps u deal with must take A LONG TIME to kill venomlancers and stuff like that...o_o, should only dispel a maximum amount which is in Heigan... 50 times :) if u have to cleanse all the dps and tanks and healers everytime u do a dance and they ALL live... ok maybe 100 times since ur dps is slow and it takes what... 4 different dances to kill him?

For PvP mana pools for a holy paly has gone Significantly down, and sumwhat for holy pve palys as well as for how much more mana we should get, I see all epic palys with only 18k mana while i have blues (some of which are enchanted but not with the best enchants) puting me at 18k unbuffed as well.... int isnt going up with the gear, its the Hp, Sp, and sumtimes Crit and mp5 and the new thing for us holy palys, Haste.
I always go with BoW and inproved of course, if your gear at the time doesnt have alot of Mp5...i wouldnt agree with you going with kings... but if most of your gear is Mp5...u can trust it and use Kings if you wish tho i still wouldnt advise it.

imma have to fix this up a bit >_< this post was made when i was in all blues.... mp5 was still prominent on holy gear and such...
But i found out after getting mostly epics that... mp5 is worthless :D! so Kings for the win, since I dont think Might will help are dps much >_>, but yes if u have a chance to take both... do it! it still helps.. it makes ur mana pool after fights look all pretty and bright blue :)
