For leveling go retribution.

I assume you are a fairly new player and that spec is the most player friendly for leveling of the three.

i have a 75 paladin, i tried ret and holy. lvling is by far easier as prot once u hit about lvl 40ish and get some good plate gear.
tanks are always needed and never found. and pally tanks above all because well we rock above all. i have 5 chars over lvl 70 and my prot pally can take on an unlimited number of melee mobs up to lvl 78. i litterally walk backwards and pull mobs until i get tired.. i dont have to drink i dont have to heal. if i get a few casters oh well they will go oom eventually and come melee me.
i love lvling prot. all the quests to kill 20-30 mobs. i see other classes.. or even ret or holy pallies pulling 1 two maybe even three at a tie then drinking and eating.. while i go and get all the mobs i can find and do the quest in a single pull.

not to mention melee classes will never come gank you as prot.. at 73 i was taking on 80 warirors..
