well.... disc is the way if u don't want to be shadow.
Honestly in the beginning u should get a hybrid spec, at least taking spirit tap talent in the shadow tree and telling your warrior friend to allow you to do the killing blow to the mobs... in this way you will never drink and your lvling will be boosted quite a bit ^^
