Hi.
Hopefully I will start to raid as a Holy Paladin.
I have done loads of Hc Dungeons and Baradin Hold.
I also manage to heal Halfus Wyrmbreaker in a PuG the other night.
But I have always used Blizzards standard frames, I've only move it to a, in my opinion, better position.
I use Clique to heal.
With this settings I can heal with with mouseover keybinds.
I also see incoming heals from other party or raid members.
All the debuffs I can cleanse, is also visible.
So my question is, since I'm not that experienced with raid healing, is this setup good?
Can I get any other usefull information if I use Grid, Vudho or healbot?
I am happy with my settings as it is right now, but I'm afraid that there's something I miss.
Please give me a hand here, thanks in advance.

Vuhdo seems to be the leader right now (in numbers of people who prefer it), but I'm stuck on Grid myself. I don't know if Vuhdo is leading because it includes support for click-casting (whereas Grid needs Clique added to it), but Grid is customizable enough that it does everything I need it to do. I actually believe I'm rolling with some oUF layout (TukUI), but it obviously looks a lot like Grid (or the other way around, I'm not sure). The icons in the middle of the frames for dispellable debuffs is perfect for me, and the indicators in the corners to show my HoTs tells me everything I need to know.
So my question is, since I'm not that experienced with raid healing, is this setup good?
It's not a horrible setup, but imo if you switch to mouseover macros and Grid, you'll find you're able to be just a hair faster with your healing. Faster = Better.

Thanks for the tip TheRealArkayn.
I have downloaded Grid and tried it out and I really do like it, but, there's one thing that bother me.
I can't hover my mouse over the debuffs and get the tooltips for them. Is that possible to setup?
How can I tell if I need to dispell something or if I should ignore or heal through it?
With my standard UI I could see the tooltip and I know what to dispell and what not to dispell.
I hope you understand my questions.
Best regards.

It makes perfect sense, and it's exactly the same thing I went through. If you have a target frame that shows debuffs, you can hover over the debuff icon there to figure out if you should heal through it or dispel it. Eventually you'll learn what icons go with which debuffs and not need to check your target frame.

Actually the Blizzard raid frames introduced in Cataclysm are pretty decent. As long as you are using Clique or mouseover macros with them I see no reason to move to VuhDo / HealBoT / Grid as long as you are only healing on your Paladin.
However, the Blizzard raid frames lack proper HoT tracking so if you happen to have a Druid or Priest then Grid has some advantages. It's just not that important for Shamans or Paladins.
How can I tell if I need to dispell something or if I should ignore or heal through it?
There is an addon called "GridStatusRaidDebuff" which will give you specific debuff icons.

Thank you all for your answers, I really appretiate it.
I've decided to uninstalled Grid and I will continue with the standard UI, because to be honest, I haven't had any problem at all healing with it.
I will continue into raids with it.
If it's not good enough, I will do something about it.
But for now, it feels like I'm trying to fix something that is not broken.
Best regards, Baptisten.
