How do I use mana (lvl 65 resto druid)?

Greetings,
My first and sofar only WoW char is a level 65 resto druid. I mostly do instances with a couple of friends - sofar only normals but aiming towards heroics at level 70.
Now, when healing the group I almost never seem able to really use my mana. Even during an overpull I end up with 75%+ mana without even using innervate. Thats using LB on the tank, RJ on everyone taking damage, swift when really needed and regrowth when the tank is taking heavy damage. Heck, I am not even good at using regrowth regularly when I have OOC partly because mana isnt an issue.
So, should I start doing dps as well when healing? I have been doing a bit of dps through dots but I end up below 2% of the total dps in the group as the mobs die too fast for the dots usually and it does not really tax my mana either.
What am I overlooking that I should be using mana on? The current situation seems pretty odd where I often use innervate on a dps that can actually use the mana.

in fact, I've been doing dps till I hit 80 and do wotlk heroics.
dps = moonfire on all mobs + insect swarm on all mobs. If I'm still doing nothing, starfire (cause wrath is doing less dps if I'm not mistaken)
so yes, it's normal you've got too much mana on those levels, I think 75-79 was the worst part (most mana)

That's pretty much the case. Keep LB rolling on the tank and the occasional RJ and WG out and that's about it. DPS really is the answer if you want to use all that mana. It'll at least help you not fall asleep.

It's pretty normal while lvling tbh. Players damage is greater than it used to be (generally), and most mobs is easier for most groups than they once were. Eg. in gnomergan, you don't care about the bombs at all anymore, but once upon a time, you had to.
Been powerlvling my new druid alt to 40 to join some friends in a lvling group (powerlvling in the sense of lvling as much as you can in shortest possible time, and having that as your only real priority in life..more or less). Alternating between balance and resto (especially post-30 with dual spec), and as resto, the majority of runs goes like this: Reju...reju...reju...reju...reju...reju...etc, only falling below 80-90% if I bother to dps a bit.
However, the excess mana is because it's easy. Easy means small or normal pulls, and often also slower progress. This "problem" (luxury problem tbh) can easily be "fixed" by larger pulls.
E.g I was lvling my priest during wotlk with two friends, warr tank and hunter dps, sitting on Skype. I was slightly bored at times, because the healing was easy as hell. Shield and renew was all I needed. I could do the healing almost asleep, thus I wasnt that enthusiastic about the whole lvling process when we reached brd, especially after many, many lvls with the oh so boring mara. I complained that it was easy and boring as hell, so the warr became more daring, pulled way more, and everything became slighly harder, and way more interesting.
Doing Uldaman on my new druid alt, I signed as dps, and we had a shaman healer. Tank hardly took dmg, shaman had more or less full mana all the time, and he actually said "damn this is boring!". Tank made bigger pulls, everybody was happy.
Just two examples, it does indeed work. Now, some healers are like me, no rush, just follow the group and heal, no need to care whether it's fast or slow, I'm good either way. Some healers are either in more of a hurry, or just want a challenge, and tell the tank to pull more. Then you also have tanks who start at a normal pace, and increase their pulls if they see the healer having too little to do.
This short reply almost became a book. Djeez. TLDR: We're not in vanilla or maybe tbc anymore, lvling is easy, instances are easy. You want to use mana, you want something to do? Pull more mobs :)

Thanks for the replies. I will look into doing more dps while not getting too much threat and killing myself. Soon we will reach heroics and hopefully healing will be truly needed there as thats what I enjoy though not at the cost of needless risk.
