Quick question, how long will the authenicator last before it needs to be replaced?
Vasco (the manufacturer) claims a battery life expectancy of 7 years.
Can the batteries be replaced?
No, the product datasheet says the battery is non-replacable. These units (and others like them) are designed to be tamper-proof. Breaking it open for any reason generally wipes its memory, rendering it useless.
Will it give you some kind of warning before it goes dead( like blinking a couple of times when you press the button ).
Let us know when you find out.

It will start fading if the batteries are dying.
Note: If you log in and the authentication code doesn't work, there are occasions when the authenticator gets desynced from the actual login phase. Call billing and have them resync it.
