It's a letter of the law/spirit of the law issue.
Hell, look at some of the aftereffects of the Red Scare. Both "In God We Trust" and "One nation, under God" were added because of the "Godless commies".

Something like half of Americans think Obama is Muslim.
Not that his religious beliefs matter, as long as he isn't flying planes into buildings.
You say they don't matter, but the only overtly non-Protestant president was JFK, who was Catholic. George W Bush's reelection campaign was partly based on gay marriage, which is obviously a religious matter.
Officially, no, it doesn't matter. Unofficially, yes, it does because too many people attempt to impose their religious beliefs on others. A CPO I once had a brief informal political discussion with said this: "Personally, I'm pro-life. Politically, I'm pro-choice. I shouldn't prevent someone from having one because it's against my beliefs. My moral compass isn't the only one there is." Unfortunately, too many people prefer to say "ABORTION AND GAY MARRIAGE ARE SINS AGAINST GOD AND THE COUNTRY SHOULD NOT ALLOW THEM." Caps to show irrationality.
You're right, but uneducated people making these things don't matter seem to matter doesn't matter. You know what I mean lol. It's kinda like the news. Headline: Britney Spears has dyed her hair and is now even uglier. As if any of us really give a ^&*!

Sorta ties in with religon, it is a documentary on faith healing.

I haven't watched that but there was a family on the news who didn't take their kid to the hospital when he had a very cure-able disease because they thought god would heal him. The kid died and they were charged with negligence.

I haven't watched that but there was a family on the news who didn't take their kid to the hospital when he had a very cure-able disease because they thought god would heal him. The kid died and they were charged with negligence.
Old news is old. Why do people feel the need to bring this up?
In other news, a family thought they could cure their kid themselves when he had a very fixable wound and he died from infection.

I always question the logic of when someone is seriously injured and possibly dying why they don't ask to go to church instead of the hospital if they truly believe it is in god's hands. Unless of course they are unconscious and implied consent is given to paramedics.
Because God likes you to try and do things yourself. If you just ask Him to heal you, it's showing that you are lazy and want Him to do everything for you.

The point is these families actually have religious beliefs against some or most medical care. What do people have to do to show Him they are not lazy and that they deserve to live?

Did you even read the rest of my post? I responded because, without even watching the movie to see what it was about, you made a post casting religion into a negative light.
Why don't you stop using ad hominem and actually respond to my arguments?
