The best classes change so frequently from patch to patch answering questions like these are fruitless. Your safest bet to success in PvP is sticking to your guns and getting good at any one class instead of rolling FOTM and sucking equally across 10 different classes.

Well, to think what is best is hard at the moment because I am still learning after all the changes. It seems to me that shamans enhancement seem to be ok, and it is my feeling that they will only get better (looked at new patch changes). Warriors at 70 done ok, and then at 80 became unstoppable, now they seem to have great ability to heal themselves too.
I am doing well in bg with hunter, and have always been quite good with hunter, but, a warrior half as good as me can take me out easily, and a shadow priest played well can beat anything, though against a mage played well. well I still things with all things being equal a shadow priest would still win. But then again with all the changes that have happened, no one knows what is best. In a bg my hunter does very well indeed, because there is so much room to manouvre. Rogues are doing well I feel too, they are able to heal well whilst stealthed, I have a rogue and have done a lot of pvp with him in past, and now they seem to have more going for them, and they are getting an increase in speed whilst stealthed apparantly. Healing shaman has always done well, and of course palas. Warlocks, again they seem to be doing very well with their stuns and crowd control.
I think everything is pretty equal. I have terrible gear atm but still seem to be doing tons of damage. Maybe the warriors that are killing me, and the priests have been better geared. That brings me to another thought. What is going to be the situation with pvp weapons, for the last expansion the whole pvp situation became aweful because I was just not able to get any through bg.
