I know exactly how you feel. When I hit 80, i kept grinding heroics for some gear and badges. My guild is my own, and only have my real life friends in it, and can't really leave it. Don't think we are going to raid in the future, and PvP is like poison cause of overpowered DK's and retri paladins.
Lately, i've been leveling my rogue, 74 atm, but got no idea what to do when I get to 80. Pherhaps you have some alt's you could level up? quest in different zones is always new stuff.
I cannot stay up and raid at 2:00am times, and nearly all of the guilds on my server raid very late.
Collecting achievements gets boring after a while, since they really dont help anything.
I can only hope that I will get more people to my guild and start 10 mans.
For now, I got nothing to do either. Big guilds grow, and they won't accept people in who didn't get a chance for better gear.
In my opinion, you should try looking for a guild that does already raid. PuG's (pick up groups) never worked for me, so if you want some good raiding experience, do it with your guild.
Stay strong, looking forward :)

Hitting the level cap is probably the ultimate test on the quality of the quests. Do you still want to complete them when there's no XP at the end? If you do (and you probably will, a lot of the later chains are excellent) that should be the first thing on your agenda. If you've just hit 80, you probably haven't explored Icecrown or Stormpeaks properly, and perhaps even a third area. I know that when I dinged 80, I had 3 zones completely untouched.
After that you should have some decent gear (there's a lot of decent blue quest and rep rewards for PvE'rs), and perhaps the confidence to tackle heroics. And make sure no-one convinces you to get rid of your wolf if you've had him since level 10. :-p

The dog is non negotiable LOL - he's never even been stabled - picked him up from just outside Ironforge and he's done me well. I've read he's completely the wrong type of pet but I don't care.
Ok, i am not saying to drop the wolf, but I would go back and get some of the Rare pets, like Humar/Pitch or King Bangledesh. Some of them are one of a kind models only to that mob. I have Humar from when I was 23 (pre-BC) and Unk'Loc (white gorilla). I might go get a rare tenacity pet.
Also, your equipment is very decent (better than mine) but for the best DPS (Damage per Second) spec wise, you could use some points switched around. I am currently getting my mining skill up because its a good money maker. I am also going for the same gun because I have a RL friend that I am sending the ore to so he can get his skill up.
Dont worry about people getting angry. I only do it when I see someone say something that is completely idiotic or not thought throughly through (spelling, i think). People think they can do it because the person being flamed (the term for agressive posting). I am glad you understand its a game. Many players don't and will get hot and bothered by you if you mess up. Its ok, just keep learning the game and no doubt you will be fine.
EDIT:
Oh! Almost forgot. To farm for mats for your equipment/cash, you might want to invest in getting a Gorilla. The AoE damage/tuant from thunderstomp is really good. I can take out 5-6 mobs easily with that and volley. Also, if you do go the raiding route, some people might not take you seriously if you dont have a scorpid/cat for a pet. Just a heads up. I am not saying drop the wolf, just saying you should consider different pets for different things.

I've been aiming for Battlemaster title since im more into PvP, but how would it sound like if you were "Loremaster" ? Equivalent PvE version of battlemaster, and a proof you have really been questin around :) Now thats something that may keep you busy for a while... Fishing with friends is also good way to spend some time. Too bad that not many people bother even learning the first fishing skill :(

If you haven't already caught Rak'shiri there's an easier way to get a cat with the same skin. Shy-Rotam is a quest spawned mob that has the same skin. The quest giver is a tauren in Everlook. He'll send you after Ursius the Shardtooth, Brumerak a Chimera, and finally Shy'Rotam. Do that quest chain and then tame Shy-Rotam instead of killing her and you have the aqua skinned tiger. To summon Shy-Rotam simply kill frostsabre's in the area til one drops sacred meat.
