Idea for shadow in cataclysm
Return to board index
No. just... no. with a side of no. and a sprinkle of no... or a dash of no. followed by a no dessert. If any ideas like these came into fruition, I'd go out and buy my copy of AION today. /emo WoWQuit
Braevia what i wanted to say about affliction is that when i look at my recount after any raid boss, i see that my shdow bolt does more damage then my corruption. ANY LVL 80 AFFLICTION DOES MORE DAMAGE WITH SHADOW BOLT THAN WITH JUST ONE DOT! If he doesn't he's doing something wrong. And destruction doesn't use shadowbolts, they use incinerate and so do all 41/30 and 40/31 specs. Affliction get's a lot more damage from it's shadowbolt than destro could:
with aff vs
Shadow and Flame
Also affliction takes
Improved Shadow Bolt
while most destruction specs don't. And the shadow priest healing was just and idea, I thought it could be fun.
But i support the idea of corrupted holy spells in shadowform.
Regardless, if you want to be doing direct damage, you shouldn't be specced into the DoT tree. This is like a Disc priest complaining that there isn't enough use for Mind Blast in their spec.
I suppose the other question is that if Shadowbolt does more damage, why are you using other spells instead? But that's a topic for another thread.
The Shadow healing idea was bad. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but it is. Lore-wise is makes little sense, and there isn't much to be gained mechanically either. Healing people through shadow spells is already possible through Vampiric Embrace anyway.
hours after posting I realized "hey, instead of "power word:shield of Pain" it should be "Shadow Word:shield"....also strictly going with the corrupted prayers might be a bit much, so lets just make more SW's...."Shadow Word:Weakness"... "ShadowWord:SpiritBreak" could be a mana pool/regen reduction...I know a PvP tool only...but a good one.
