That's the physical abilities hitcap, so I can understand why you might mix it up.

Well now I'm confused. I thought the hit cap for an elemental shaman was 368 raid buffed, but my hit rating of 374 (
armory
) only gives me 14% or so.
What gives?

The raid buffed hit cap is WAY lower than that, around 280 or so. You want 11% from gear.

I'm .55% over the hit cap, but you get the idea. I'm trying to drop it. And, if you're wondering, if I end up going to a 10 man or something that doesn't have a SP or a Moonkin, I swap out Sundial for Mark of the War Prisoner. That brings me up to 14.55(again trying to get rid of the extra, but dropping stats is more difficult than it would seem).
Yeah I'm not going to lose sleep over being 1% over cap, I just want to make sure I'm doing my part in the DPS department. Being slightly over means I don't have to think about it too much.
I'm over the cap without raid buffs, which may be overkill. I could probably stand to lose 50-60 points of hit rating if better SP/Crit/Int gear comes along.
