If you're just starting to work on your shaman, I'd recommend Enhancement. It's easy to solo, and takes just a little work to moderate your damage to an acceptable level in a group. You can use it all the way to 70, and even into raids.
The good part about engineering for a shaman is the extra little bits it brings to the table: a 3 second stun on a mob from a grenade can net you an uninterrupted heal at the right time. Be warned, though, engineering costs a fair amount to skill up, and brings in very little money, since, for the most part, only other engineers can use what you can craft.
