Invisible mail from the Twisting Nether
Return to board index
After doing LFR yesterday, I came back to a mail from the mysterious "Postmaster", saying that something that belonged to me had been recovered from the Twisting Nether. Enclosed was...only a Plain Letter. I could only loot a copy of the letter itself, and the item, whatever it was, was nowhere to be seen.
What is this? Note that all the loot and gold from the bosses went into my bags as it should, and the bags weren't full.
generally spoken these mails arrive when you won something in a dungeon/LFR but for some reason the game didnt actually gave it too you.
in that case the item will be sent by this mysterious postmaster.
the fact you got an empty mail is quite weird, and i have no idea what triggered it while it didnt get an item attached too it.
It's just a bug that happens sometimes. You are not actually 'due' anything in the mail, it was just triggered usually by LFR loot, your bag of gold, which you receive, but for some reason the system is triggered thinking you missed out on something. It's been happening since early MOP at the least. I have gotten a number of these (even though I fully received my loot just fine in the instance). I sent a ticket in about these mysterious letters and a GM replied it was a known bug that they can't seem to pin down a fix, and I didn't miss out on anything, but just the system was triggered to send out the letter. So long as you are actually getting your loots/gold in your instances, just ignore these letters from the nether. :)
I actually spoke with a GM about this. Normally if you get an empty mail from the nether, it is justice or valor points.
Both Pyrate and Lonewolfe are on the right track. It's not uncommon for us to get tickets from players asking for us to investigate what they should have received, although we have no expedient way to have the system search as to
it was trying to send the mail. However, if you ever believe you were supposed to receive an item but don't see it, you can always let us know. Having an idea of what we are to search for is different than, looking for a needle in a haystack that may or may not be there. ;)
