Indeed, can even check wow account while on the go! It's the customizability that makes it great though

The iPhone is a more expensive iPod touch with 3G and calling capability. That should make it an easy choice.

Am I the only one who sees that the first three posts are from 2007? Just curious.
I see it. The reason I said:

I've had an iPhone for about two months now, and it's prolly the most useful tool I've ever owned. To coin a phrase from Alton Brown of
Good Eats
fame, the iPhone embodies the spirit of "death to the unitasker".
As others have posted here, it's got quite a few different WoW apps, some free, others... not so much, as well as the neat ability to stand in as a Blizzard Authenticator for any Battle.net accounts you may have.
The GPS functionality is superb, and app selection in general is just phenomenal. For almost every non-free app you can find, there's either a free one available at current, or one that's prolly in development to make the paid app obsolete.
Indeed, the only qualms I have about the phone would be:
Monthly Cost
Though I can't speak for those that've gotten bold and jailbroken their's (I see no real reason to do that with mine, other than what I'm about to cover), the cost per month for the iPhone is ridiculous. Granted, it's not the iPhone itself so much as the services the iPhone uses, but still. I jumped ship from Verizon Wireless to AT&T just to get this phone, and my bill went from roughly $54.00 per month to $120.00 per month. On the flipside, however, I now do almost all my non-leisure internet stuff on the iPhone (checking e-mails, paying bills, transferring funds, etc.).
Processes
Not entirely sure how it is with other smart phones, as the iPhone is the first non-flip cellphone I've ever owned, but when you leave an app, it's closed. No longer in memory. The only two things that you can actually navigate out of while still using their functionality would be the iPod and Phone functions. Though I suppose in the end, this is preferable to having all these ridiculous processes eating system resources forever.
I also owned an iPod Touch at one point, which was pretty much more or less the exact same thing as the iPhone I've got now, sans (built-in) microphone capabilities.
