Waste of points. It might not be so bad in 5 mans where you will frequently have killing blows and be chain pulling.

It has been confirmed in the tooltip? "After killing an opponent" doesn't mean 'Helping to damage something down and someone else kills it'. It is the same with all abilities/talents/items that have that wording. It is killing blow.
