I'm learning the ropes. Recently hit L.50 with my character. What should I focus on now?
Should I develop my profession, or amass gold, what would you do?

Hello there,
Since we're less than three weeks before World of Warcraft: Shadowlands release, I think you should focus on whatever you like. You could focus on getting to know your class better, feel familiar with dungeon or raid encounters, or try some other classes to make sure you chose the perfect one for you. I would suggest trying some Battle for Azeroth specific features, as some of them might be difficult to reach after the expansion ends, for example: Island Expeditions, Horrific Visions or Warfronts.
Since WoW's Anniversary event started, we were granted a buff increasing experience and reputation gained. It is a good chance to getting those BfA (or any other) reputations to Exalted or to level some alts up.
If you feel like it, you could always catch up with older content to know the history of WoW better.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Cheers!

WoW has so much content. I don't even know where to continue after level 50.
I haven't even touched the pet fights, for example. You can see that the item level gets better and better. You can get to know other content, thanks to the timelines at Chromie. So there's a lot of it, in my opinion.
If you're just looking to level up, of course after level 50, until Shadowlands, that's it.
Excuse my bad English ;)
