Lets keep this simple.
If you dont bother to enchant your gear or socket it, you shouldn't be raiding.
Lucky your guild takes you to kara.
This is no troll, this is fact. You simply dont go Kara with 700 healing shaman and expect to past Attumen (if everyone is your gear level)
I figure this was directed at me.
If you NEED to fully gem (all rare gems) and enchant your gear you either a)havn't hit the base line b)trying to make up for lack of skill
(This doesn't apply to tanks who are doing this to push mad HP numbers).
Point in fact. A healer with +1000 healing consitantly healing vs a +2000 healer who does reactive healing, it's not hard to see who comes out on top.
+700 is about all u need to do about half of kara. Attun -> Curator. Also remember, there is more then 1 healer in there. There should be 2-3 (2 if they are geared and so is everyone else).
If you want to be elitest by all means
www.thottbot.com awaits. But refusing people to do kara, a pug'able raid because they don't have the +healing you want them to have to make up for your lack of skill and/or mistakes is sad.
Sorry, But I disagree.
I know that skill is very VERY important.
BUT... to say that a 1K healer will ever come close to me in healing is.. well.. Laughable. (I have 2K heals)
I would have to have an emergency and go afk 1/2 way through the fight for the 1K heals to have a chance.

Oh and for my raids, If a healer down't have at least 1600 healing.. well everyone else better be overgeared...
Then again.. I aim for speed not just the ability to down bosses.
As for just being able to do Kara... Id say 1000-1200 min healin
(3-heals) or 1300-1600 (2 heals)
But, I will never see that as every Kara run im in has me.. so it'll be me (over 2K heals) and whatever.
(Oh, I never reactively heal. What good does it do if the tank is 1/2 sec from getting my 8K crit heal vs being 1/2 sec from getting an undergeared 4K crit heal... Tank is just as dead.)
