To me, KotJ is golden. Pure win for initial aggro. I got it macrod so that I can charge the boss while popping both Enrage and Barkskin (to negate the extra damage intake). Plus, if you need a little extra damage and you're not prone to dying, pop it alongside Berserk.

Also, since being able to switch to kitty and go dps midfight is something that makes druids so nice, the energy return from popping Tiger's Fury is a sweet bonus as well. I know I wouldn't be able to DPS anymore without it :D

If you need Enrage for the rage, you're not taking enough damage to be in any real risk of dying anyways, otherwise, just gauge it and keep and eye on your health. Be smart with it.

I feel like it comes out to how you want to play. Personally, the idea of risking extra damage as a tank still makes me cringe a little, but I don't roll my eyes at people who do spec KotJ. I say "risking" because, as a well-geared druid, it is perfectly possible to go 10 full seconds without taking a single hit, in which case-- hey, free DPS and free rage!
It's only 10% additional damage. If you take an accidental tick of Flamethrower on Omnotron you get more damage than you would get by using Enrage. And you can still use it in conjunction with Barkskin. Basically, you can see Barkskin as a CD that reduces your damage taken by 10% and increases damage done by 15%. As if it was a customizable CD. Besides, for the moments you are in cat form while nothing is hitting you, KotJ is awesome. It is a good talent when you are able to squeeze the juice out of it. It is not a good talent if it would just sit there and you would never use it. And it's definitely better than Feral Aggression.

TL:DR

Most have fairly predictable or tell-tale periods of increased damage output where it's a bad idea but otherwise their damage can generally be shrugged off.

Use enrage for rage before a pull or if talented for when you'd like to dish out some added dps/tps without any serious risk of dying, like when using Berserk/Mangle spam.

Don't use enrage when you already have a full rage bar or if the boss just enraged and won't be satisfied till they kick your ass so hard you can taste the cheese between their toes.
