I was wondering why I’m having such a hard time gearing up. I’m 80, largely in quest blues, looking for starter epics. It finally hit me, even though it’s obvious —
There isn’t any farmable gear for disc priests.
Nothing in the faction rewards (all haste). Nothing craftable (all haste; Frostsavage is good, but not epic). Only one emblem item with crit (
Lattice Choker, and if you can swallow hit rating,
Ward of the Violet Citadel).
Yes, there are a number of drops in heroics, and of course, a number of drops in Naxx. But in BC, there were fantastic starter epics for holy priests that could be crafted or purchased with honor. Now, as disc…nothing.
Any ideas what’s up? Did bliz not realize that they made crit a healing stat now? Has anyone heard of plans to remedy this situation? Or are we stuck hoping for drops?

This is exactly what I posted in my rant thread on these boards. I actually had to get
shadow Tier 7 gloves, because the Holy ones weren't optimal for me. And badge gear? Fuhgeddaboutit. Out of what little badge gear there actually is available, hardly any of it is something I find useful for my spec. To quote myself:

I farmed heroics and got 80 badges to buy my
Tier 7 chest only to have it replaced by
a friggin' heroic instance drop. After that disappointment, I decided to go get 60 more for the
Tier 7 gloves, and guess what I found that's better? Another
goddamn heroic drop.
Is someone up at Blizzard laughing at the joke that is WLK Disc itemization? Why change it into a viable PvE healing spec if you're not willing to support it?
Oh, and in the new
patch notes, neither Penance nor Rapture are getting fixed.
Am I the only one seeing this?

Actually there's a lack of cloth-priest items overall with emblems.
Perhaps. But there is a wealth of
craftable and
reputation gear available for clothies. Haste & spirit, more haste, and more spirit. And a few haste items thrown in for variety. WIth super-bonus-power haste for when you need that extra boost. Of haste. Blecch.
