I was ret until about lvl 50. If I had of known about Prot and it's fantasticness I would have respecced around 30 or 35. The only problem is that you need Blessing of Sanctuary to stand a chance at AoEing, so you'll have to wait till at least 30. I would recommend trying both. Turned out that I love prot :P
